Corporate Lobbyists Should Have NO Say in Who OUR Lawmakers Hire - Petition

US Politics & Gov't  (tags: corporate lobbyists, job interviews, House Majority Whip, U.S. Rep. Steve Scalise )

Dandelion
- 325 days ago - action.citizen.org
News reports revealed that the House Majority Whip, U.S. Rep. Steve Scalise, was using a corporate lobbyist to help conduct job interviews for staff positions. What's obvious to you and me is beyond the understanding to some representatives and senators.

The original concept of what it means to be a lobbyist was long ago corrupted. Lobbyocracy seems to be the order of the day. Thank you for the post Dandelion. And the forward GGma

How blatant is that! Did he think no one would know? Or that no one would care? Certainly too many people don't care but there was no way someone wouldn't split and then outrage would be inevitable.

Not only should lobbyists have nothing to say about who is hired, they shouldn't be permitted in the Halls of Congress, PERIOD.
They have but one purpose, and that is to BUY votes. There is no other logical explanation.

If they want to contact legislators, they can do as we do, and e-mail them.

There has not been, in recent history, a politician who entered the Senate or House of Representatives who hasn't left a wealhy person, regardless of the financial situation they were in, at the onset. Why do you think no one ever, wants to leave?
The wealth they accumulate for themselves is a disgrace to the average citizen.
Since they won't even consider TERM LIMITS, we_should_ be doing it for them.

Charlie I wanted to give you a green star, but the computer wouldn't let me - but I agree with every word you say - and what you say pretty much goes for all our governing bodies around the world too!
