AUSTRALIA. Extreme drought, ferocious bushfires and urban development could make koalas extinct within seven years, environmentalists are warning.

Thank you its time to stop the clock of extinction! We are loosing this planet if we cannot protect bio diversity! This system will not work if so many species are lost for good!
Its time for the people to wake up....
This is not about a few endangered species the list is long and growing fast.....
And what do you hear from the IUCN/CITES nothing? They spend millions and do nothing to stop the clock of extinction!
I had a discussion last week with the guy who protects the African Painted Dogs and who did the undercover research....just came up with a new docu on the dutch television about wild animals being sold to CHINA! You do not want to know how many RED LIST animals are sold to Chinese private Peoples and Zoos...thousands and thousands....
If they want a Koala they buy a koala its that simple...they pay the price....and they do with the animals whatever they want.....

Just take a look at this first video to find out how wildlife is traded....
http://en.sevenload.com/videos/AHwwbde-Wild-dogs

If we do not stop this they will sell and kill many more species!

WILD LIFE why is it called wild life if people put them in cages?

Man NEEDS to learn to restore old/already used home & buildings. Wildlife uses old nests/burrows, etc...........why can't humans learn to do the same? Big deal if we're not the fisrt person to live in a brand new house.

Urban development appears to be a significant threat to the Kola polulation in South East Queensland. While urban development continues to invade territory inhabited by animals, species like the Kola will be at significant risk of extinction. The Australian government needs to legislate to save the Kola's natural habitat for the species to survive.

Noted and thanks Cheryl. Too many people are selfish and greedy at the expense of our wild life and environment. I agree Anthony, our government does need to legislate to save the Koala.

My lord, all of the killings & culling & abuse that animals endure, no wonder why we don't have much of a lot of species of animals left.
I think Hans said it best: WILD LIFE, why is it called wild life if people put them in cages? Why can't we as humans just let animals be in their own environment & allow them to survive without mass killings going on.
I love all animals, koalas are special...I am so very sad about this.

I believe that is why we all keep trying here at this site to be a voice for the helpless, in hopes of saving what we have left here on the Earth. In numbers our voices are loud & we can make a difference.

TY Cheryl for this article, sadly noted...
Blessings to us all in the Universe,
FreeSpiritRunning...

oh please don't let those cute bears die out. PLEASE!!!!
Stop this bushveld burning and urbin developement, we need to think about the habitats of these animals and not just building houses for ourselves.
Animals have the right to live freely in THERE HABITAT.
