A jury has acquitted George Zimmerman, but we are not done demanding justice for Trayvon. The most fundamental of civil rights —the right to life— was violated the night George Zimmerman stalked and then took the life of Trayvon Martin. We ask that the Department of Justice file civil rights charges against Mr. Zimmerman for this egregious violation.

Signed with my comment: "As a mother, I can't even imagine the pain Sybrina Martin and her husband have suffered! They have exemplified the principles of their religion, and demonstrated grace and dignity as they dealt with this heinous violation of the civil right to life." Thanks Beverly.

I would have signed but outside of the states - a young man defending himself against a bigger older man stalking him at night how frightening for the boy and then this man gets away with murder - stalking with a loaded gun only one intention and the racial comments made before he started stalking the kid I hope this young mans family get some kind of justice

I think he should be retried for murder in a federal court on the grounds of the defense lawyer blatantly lying, the prosecutor obviously throwing the case and the judge giving the jury faulty instructions thereby negating double jeopardy because he was never in jeopardy in the first place.

I would gladly have signed to demand justice for Trayvon but having no zip code was unable to do so. Very frustrating !

Thank you for the article, and the opportunity to sign and share. First this would have never happen if Zimmerman, had done what the police dispather said. ( Stay in your car, do not follow him) period, end of discussion, but no He got out stalked that young boy, attacked him, and when Travon fought back for his life, Zimmerman shot him dead.....period, There is no justification for that. He should pay, if it can not be thru the criminal systems, Maybe it can be thru the civil suit, and the case brought against him for a hate crime and profiling. I hope justice gets served in the end.....period.
