The Coalition to Abolish Slaver and Trafficking (CAST) works to rehabilitate victims of human trafficking in Los Angeles, California. What is special about CAST, compared to other human trafficking organizations, is that it provides comprehensive care to victims and takes substantial steps to attempt to integrate them back into society at large. Established in 1998, CAST is the first shelter in the country dedicated solely to helping victims of human trafficking and modern day slavery, and has unique insights.

While other organizations often focus on one particular aspect of human trafficking victims’ needs – such as legal assistance, emotional help, or seeking justice against the victimizers – CAST helps with all of these. The distinguishing element about CAST is its comprehensive and collaborative nature.

CAST’s network with other organizations involved in the human trafficking issue is extensive and impressive, allowing collaborative efforts to occur more easily. Often a significant hurdle in addressing the human trafficking issue is the fact that groups work independently, rather than interdependently. CAST works interdependently with other organizations, statewide, nationally, and internationally. The net result is an organization that is able to accomplish more.

By supporting CAST, you can encourage other organizations to follow its lead, and facilitate comprehensive and collaborative efforts to end human trafficking.

Thanks signed and tweeted. I hope mor organizations start to work together with even more comprehensive programs. Often drug counseling ,shelter and education are needed as well. The more that come together providing meaning ful services. The better for the victims.

Slavery and trafficking would have been shut down years ago if the governments of the world had made it a priority. Instead, we need organizations such as The Coalition.

It makes a change as America likes to blame the victim and punish them more than the perpetrator.

Although there is terrible human trafficking in the US, it is worse from Eastern Europe and Africa where many are taken to the Muslim controlled countries in the Middle East, a minimum of 20 million slaves. When I report this so few of you are interested, does that mean out of country who cares?

Many Christian Africans flee Muslim attacks, are captured by Arabs, women raped and healthy male specimens become involuntary FULL organ donors. These poor unfortunates are ransomed and many murdered afterwards.

Why do these unfortunates not receive your compassion too?
