Here's a list of people who should be involved in your access to birth control:

Your doctor—check
Your boss—heck no!

But David Green, CEO of the arts and crafts chain Hobby Lobby, says differently. He's trying to impose his personal religious beliefs on Hobby Lobby's 13,000 employees by blocking their access to contraception.

It’s outrageous—which is why it’s sparked a major national conversation that’s putting Hobby Lobby in the limelight.

The holiday shopping season is a big time for Hobby Lobby’s business. So we can use our power as consumers to let Hobby Lobby and other companies know that a decision to let bosses decide a woman's access to birth control will hurt their brand and their business.

Sign the card to David Green, CEO of Hobby Lobby, letting him know we won’t be shopping anywhere where a boss tries to block employees’ health insurance coverage for contraception.

The CEO of Hobby Lobby has the right to practice his religion and we at the ACLU defend that freedom as guaranteed by the First Amendment. But Green does NOT have the right to impose his views on his employees and deny coverage for the basic reproductive care they need.

Yet that hasn’t stopped Hobby Lobby from suing the federal government to avoid including certain types of contraception in employee health insurance plans under the Affordable Care Act.

The Supreme Court is taking up the case, and the ACLU has been adding our legal expertise. We hope that our country’s highest court will affirm that religious beliefs cannot be used to deny women health care coverage.

But while the Court decides this case, we can take a stand right now as citizens and consumers to let Hobby Lobby know we won’t tolerate their actions.

Sign the card to David Green, CEO of Hobby Lobby, letting him know we won’t be shopping anywhere where a boss tries to block employees’ health coverage for contraception.

Done - who does he think he is? Not even the husband, who might have some say (although women have fought for the right to decide for themselves ....)

This petition is too little, too late. Maybe if people had boycotted Hobby Lobby because of this it might have made a difference, but, now that the case has reached the Supreme Court, it will have no impact on them. As far as they are concerned, having the Supreme Court take the case already validates their bigotry. Even if the Court rules against them, all it will do is cause them to look for other methods to get around the law.

I would say that husband/SO should be INVOLVED in the process, but by no means should he have any kind of veto power over the final decision

Hobby Lobby - Keep your business out of my body! There's a store near my son and his family. Will tell him to stay away from there, and why. Think daughter-in-law will have a few things to say to that place...and to her friends.

No, your boss doesn't have any business with birth control but if you refuse and he has a private talk with you it might lead to sex harassment.
