Mass drugging, like through the food or water supply, violates basic pharmaceutical dosage principles.

We are going to need some real super heros to fight this blight. Why don't we have a say in this?

A human gene in rice, a food staple that we are suppose to eat???
I am not a cannibal...
This is a very disturbing information and news.
Write to your congresscriters and say "NO" to this!

This is one of the scariest things of these times. Our food and water supply are as much under attack as we are. Once these frankenfoods have been released, its like opening Pandora's Box. These mutants will take over and destroy the natural plants in those areas. I live in a rural area of upstate NY, and many locals, including farmers, are afraid for their livelihood. We must organize.

OMG! Why can't corporations leave well enough alone and stop messing around with the very food we eat. And BTW, would any of those scientists eat this stuff if they had a choice? Somehow I think not!

Wouldn't that be something like 'cannibalism'? Do they plan to call it 'Soylent Green"?

Soylent Green is right!! My god, what is going to be next. I feel like I'm living in a science fiction movie. But where is the hero and heroine?!

This is scary. Our government agencies approve anything big companies ask for. Our government is being taken over by big corporations. We don't even have the right to know when these GM ingredients are in our food. We the people had better stand up for our rights before it is too late.

Any one who's sent a Care2 message has probably seen this quote today, for those of you who haven't, I thought I'd share:

"The Earth is not dying, it is being killed, and those who are killing it have names and addresses." - Utah Philips, folksinger

creepy to say the least. Nothing like playing God, eh? Must really be a stroke for some crazy scientist's ego on figuring this one out. So we are fed a lot of crap about feeding the world's hungry with GMO, yet we don't realize that birth control is the answer to having so many hungry mouths to feed. Even animals in the wild have enough sense to not go into heat when food gets scarce. No politician will ever-EVER- touch this issue with a ten foot pole.

I think its going to take some angry women to change things.

What's next? Beyond Soylent green and humans genes????Wonder if this plant will be able to learn anything or be able to walk. May not be as crazy as it sounds.

"Scientist have merged human genes into rice plants, able to uproot itself and seek better "living conditions" if water is scarce. The only drawback scientists have had with this new rice plant is that it runs away just before harvest time."

I have a corn ? plant, I use the ?mark as it sort of looks like a corn plant, yet it really isn't. This mystery corn pant grew last summer along the side of my driveway so I let it grow. It is about 3 feet tall, the tassel top of a normal corn plant never looked like this, it has round orange seeds on thin stems and grew pine cone shaped. Then it sprouted 4 new stalks from the base of the plant. Three on one side and one on the other side of the original stalk. It then grew another "tassel" at the top but it didn't develop as far as the first one. It definitely is a weird corn plant. It never grew any ears of corn. I will plant some of these tassel seeds just to see if it grows a different pant this year. Is this the future of our produce ? Monster pants and produce?

This is disgusting and needs to be stopped. Humans are stupid to be messing with nature but we are pros at that, aren't we? We always know what is best. God needs to come take the keys to the planet away from us human kids.

Yes, this needs to be stopped. Yes, we need to DO something. So, WHO here is doing something? Who, on this thread, has emailed their governments? Who has actually gone into a supermarket and stuck GMO labels on cheap foods? Who has handed out fliers and organized rallies or even free movie nights to GMO documentaries? Because, until you take your fingers off the computer and put them into use of something that actually will make a difference, your lives will continue to be controlled by other powers and forces than yourself. I'm not being mean: I'm just keeping it real....

A better use for transplanting a human gene would have been "served"
into the republicans...

April, I've written I do not know how many letters, I have tried to educate friends, co workers and neighbours...... and even though Organic sales are still growing rapidly, the USDA is upping it's approvals in an effort to destroy the non gmo aspect of organic....
