Going local does not mean walling off the outside world. It means nurturing locally owned businesses which use local resources sustainably, employ local workers at decent wages and serve primarily local consumers. It means becoming more self-sufficient-->

Support your local community small business, that store may not be there next time you need it.

I skip black Friday in order to do Small Business Saturday. You can find such unique things at local, independent stores! They're my fav!

So, Black Friday is all about the big box, multinational corporations, and the small family businesses are ignored. I have ignored Black Friday and will instead enjoy stress free shopping at my local small businesses.

I'm not into these crazy name sales days. It makes me ill that these stores/companies have taken away the true meaning of the holy days. I will always support the small businesses year round. Thanks kathy

My father instilled in me the philosophy of spending your money "in town". My grandfather owed a children's clothes store, and my father owned a deli. To this day, (even though I don't), I would never think of buying cold cuts from a supermarket.
