Using light where we need it and keeping the glow out of the sky is a good idea.

it is amazing what you are able to see when there is no artificial light around

During the blackout of a few years ago I was actually able to count the constellations and even see stars such as Beetlejeus and Antares without a telescope in the Toronto Annex. I miss the stars.

Amazes me when you in a place without lights how dark it does get, and how clearthe stars are.
