Free stores promote a culture of reuse and sharing, conserve resources, and give a hand up to those in need.

Besides Craigslist there's FreeCycle. Many towns, including here have several used goods stores, like Goodwill. Noted and thanks.

we have a free store at the dump&its the most wonderful thing I've ever seen! craigslist&freecycle are sketchy here fyi! the dump store is all quality products people were done w/that then get rehomed. EVERY TOWN SHOULD HAVE ONE. fyi not everyone can afford the internet leaving freecycle&craigslist only to the well off

Freecycle was excellent when I lived in the Portland Maine area however doesn't work so well here where I live in Florida. Thanks for the information and the ideas.

I think this can be a tremendously magnanimous gesture to have, so long as people are (big caveat), responsible about it... I work with people who constantly go on about bargains, and getting things cheap, or on special offer, YET, I doubt they would want their own services and job to be downgraded pay-wise...
