MCONTINUED..... Molly, Noland's mother, was discovered later that day looking anxious and famished. Her owner, who was later convicted of animal neglect, had her chained up behind the home.

There are some adorable photos. I guess this is a 6 month update and it's a happy ending story.

The dog/mom was abused and the owner was convicted but I doubt the conviction was strong enough. I'm so happy both were found and both rescued. It sounds like all is doing well. Every one of the kittens, the mom cat, the pitbull puppy now a cute chubby thing and Mandy the pitbulls mom are all well.

I'm happy they are all safe and doing so well. I had never heard this story before.

It's hard to keep taking in all the bad news in the world.

So good to hear that everything worked out for all involved. Just goes to show that left to their own devices, animals do a much better job of getting alone with each other than we humans have figured out how to do!

Just the sweetest story! I love the picture of the pup with his visit to his "mom." Animals are just amazing!

Great story except for the idiot who chained her outside. Let's hope she gets no more animals to abuse. I and to laugh when the dog started using the litter box. Time for some canine role models! Of course they knew that one.

OMG, what a lesson to be learned! That of course doesn't count the people who threw out Lurlene and Noland. Once more, another article of evil people doing evil acts. And once more, good people coming to the animals' rescue. This is mind-boggling and hart-wrenching. Thank God they're safe now, but their former owners could use a little jail time for their filthy, compassionless acts. It is shocking--shocking beyond words what horrible people will do, but I'm so grateful these poor souls were saved from them..

This is another example that man needs to become extremely familiar with. Lurlene shows how the species doesn't have to be the same to offer needed help and love. I am happy his mom has been saved as well and the fact that he is allowed to visit and get love from his mom as well will make him a well rounded puppy. (and I don't mean weight!!)

Amazing. It's surprising that the milk of one species would be OK for another.
