Hoax of the Day: The Deepwater Horizon Was Destroyed By a North Korean Mini-Sub

The Deepwater Horizon wasn't torpedoed by a North Korean mini-sub, nor has President Obama ordered the press to keep things quiet. Because it's a hoax.

I do not believe in the sub issue. But I have considered the thought that it was a deliberate.

There are some who will indeed believe it (and all the other rumors that are going to be flying around out there in cyberspace). And I can pretty much guarantee that the story will be bandied about among conspiracy theorists for many years to come.

I wish more people would wait for actual credible evidence before forming opinions.

I was almost embarrassed to write this story, but I was watching it balloon by the hour on Twitter and Facebook. It's amazing how ideology triumphs over common sense. I'm glad I did it now, though: Google is sending HUNDREDS of search referrals an hour. Shows you how quickly even a preposterous hoax can spread.
