Please everybody sign this one too. There are so many dogs and cats at kill shelters and it's puppy and kitten season. They KILL THE BABIES RIGHT ALONG WITH THE MOTHERS.

Noted & shared. Also posted on Face Book. I have been in Change.org for a few years. They have changed it & you can't share with your Change.org friends anymore which have helped. You can only share with FB friends & post at FB too. So they are trying to rule everyone. Why? $$$$$$$. That's why FB is doing this, just money is number one. It stinks. Jocelyn, I noticed that, too. Your signature is DEFAULTED to share with a FB account, and if you then don't want to do that, IT WON'T POST YOUR SIGNATURE! You have to uncheck the box "Post to FB" before clicking sign or else you cannot undo it and it will not record a signature. I don't like that at all. And what's the point of having Change.org friends if you can't contact them to tell them to sign?

I have heard and recurring complaints on Care2 now that some people who are pro-AR are being consistently harassed, penalized, suspended, moderated, and so on whenever they post anywhere on the site, or participate in petitions and so on. Further, many of them have said that there is a cadre of tattle-tales here on Care2 who run around lodging complaints against said people with the sole purpose of having the AR folks blocked, suspended or removed. Interestingly, these same cadre is KNOWN to show up on every pro-animal discussion as trolls who try to divert the topic, call people names, attempt to establish the idea that non-violence towards animals is a "choice" that is being shoved down THEIR throats, and so on. They THEN whine prodigiously that THEY are being victimized, in the threads, by the "militant vegans, etc" and cry that they are the "moderate voices of reason." Nothing could be further from the truth and I've had multiple conversations now about these very same people.

What IS going on here with Care2? Who ARE these people and how is it they seem to be sweet-talking MODS into doing their dirty work for them?

Does anyone else here know what I'm talking about and who I'm talking about? I'm betting some here do.

Thank you for posting Vicynthia - and to Kathy for sending. More than happy to sign both petitions. Very disturbing ! I read Roobios comment too. I am not a very trusting soul by nature, and there is good reason not to be. There was a pro hunting wolf / gaining more land access to kill petition here not long ago (how vile and unethical since the species is being decimated everywhere) and one would think it would not have been posted here. Nonetheless, it was, and I read a couple of comments where people had said they only pretended to like wolves, but secretly hoped they were all killed off. Clearly, some people are not what they may present themselves to be. Well, that's ok - I don't think any of this deters AR. It's par for the course really !

i know who rooibos is talking about and i have come to believe that they are either getting paid to create drama or are mentally ill. why else would anyone go to an article specifically written for vegans and rant against the concept. i don't obsessively stalk deepak chopra and tell him there is no god over and over. and facebook is whatever you want it to be. we all have the ability to hide our friends' posts so why must they be censored. ty kathy for the forward.

FaceBook Disabled my Account in May2010!!! When on FB, I recruited more than 3,500 to my Animal/Environmental Causes (OrangutanOutreach, OrangutanLandTrust, Don't Palm Us Off, JaneGoodall Inst., TheCove, Rapes in Congo, etc etc) I had 3,000 Friends & made Donations for $635.
I LOST EVERYTHING when FB Disabled my Account (Entered the Care2 Community thereafter: June 2010). FB Disabled my ACCOUNT because I was posting my Link to “my” Petition for Orangutans, Tigers, Elephants, Wildlife, Biodiversity, Rainforests, “Label PalmOil", for which I worked hard, even 10 hrs/day, since when my UK friend Ryno Nel, belonging to my FB group, wrote it & I signed it for 3rd. FB considered it as a SPAM declaring I violated their rules!! Isn’t it more probable that the "PalmOil"/Oil/Logging Lobby(Corporations) defend their Money/Greed Interests?? Same days: FB blocked also the Petition Against BP(the Gulf Disaster)!! Even if they DISABLED me: my Orangutan Petition reached Total 6,445 Signs thanks to my new Care2 friends!!!!!!! Afterwards it was awaiting decisions by the EUParliament. On Facebook people were less Petition-oriented than on Care2 where real activists are.

Thank you Kathy C for the forward....I actually am Not on Facebook, and the only way I could forward petitions on Change.Org was to my friends, and they took that option away thus, losing a TON of forwards, getting ready to close my account! No help from Change, they have Mucked it all up with THEIR OWN CHANGE!!!

FB is not that good of an organization. Never has been.

There are groups in FB out to ruin the credibility of the animal rights and activists groups.
There have been new bills passed in some states outlawing undercover works on abuses
on animal and shelters by making reporting such activities a crime.

If this weren't such a serious topic I'd have to chuckle a little - you nailed it!! Honestly hadn't thought about THAT possibility but you may well be right (and know we're talking about the very same little troublemakers for certain now).

It's very possible it's the same people OR they know each other and work together. Wouldn't surprise me a bit. They've hounded at least 4 people I know out of Care2 now and they keep gunning for more (they fear me a bit so it hasn't happened yet).

It could be, Colleen. I'm not sure. Btw, I can't get the list of the people who blocked by FB now. FB may have erased it. But, however, for me if people just want to good thing, why should FB let their accounts blocked? While for me, I saw some pages which promote animals' abuse, racism, are still rising. As one of my friends here, Michela here has been blocked by FB too.
Only Mark Zuckerberg and his staff who know why their account is blocked. And I believe that they may already know about this petition.
I remember when I posted link about my friend's rescued cats, I have to write the code (Catchpa thing, I forgot the right name). Yes, it has link to her paypal account. So, I think that's the way it work. I use FB daily but it's just to check about my friends who I now rarely meet. Although I need it still because I don't have other social network with my friend, I don't like what they do. Yes, I admit I was active using their Cause app for good things. But, somehow, knowing these things, I feel a bit uncomfortable using it.

Funny. One of my FB friends reposts at least half a dozen animals to be rescued each day. It only took a few weeks of this for me to block her posts from showing up in my queue. Too much of anything, not matter how well intentioned, will eventually cause problems. Learn how to use tools effectively and you won't attract the negative attention that ends up getting accounts blocked.
