Well I hope people are reading it and not just noting it. This is a major serious problem in our prision systems in the USA and Canada, worldwide. And I won't call them rehabilitation systems. Something, people need to do something, I am not able to myself. I was shocked to see how high the numbers are and occurance in 2007, even though I gay freinds prior was jailed in minimum security, and was slight and short, and raped and was beaten badly several times. When asked who did it he, he said he slipped and wouldn't tell. If did, he could be killed. His sentenace was several months, and near the end out for days.

if you do the crime ,then you have to do the time...its time to quit worring about the inmate and think about what he or she did to get there and who they hurt..if they don't want to be inmates ,then they shouldn't have done the crime

I strongly disagree and that is highly inapproproraite, RAPE IS WRONG ANY WHERE AND DOES NOT COME WITH THE SENTANCE, AS A SOCIETY WE ARE STILL RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR WELFARE, AS SAID THERE IS NO REHABILITATION, ONLY A FEW HAVE SMALL PROJECTS FOR SUCH. MANY INMATES ARE PEOPLE WITH MENTAL HEALTH PROBLEMS OR VETS THAT HAVE BEEN PUT OUT ON THE STREET, DON'T TAKE THEIR MEDICINE AND THEY FILL THE JAILS UP WITH THEM. HOW DARE YOU SAY THAT RAPE IS OK IN ANY CIRCUMSTANCE, MALE OR FEMALE
