No one speaks Truth to power with clearly and to the point the way George could stitch it together. If potty mouth language is an affront to your dignified view of the world, this is not 3 minutes you want to spend watching. It is George Carlin, no hold

I find this to be a good skit to watch just before going out in the cold to Occupy something. It works wonders to get your blood boiling which helps to keep you warm and focused on why you’re standing there freezing your butt off. Just a joke, but it might work, who knows.

"It's b-s-, and it's bad for you":

- The Iowa GOP Caucus;
- Climate change denial;
- Keystone XL tar sand oil Pipeline;
- "austerity";
- "Right to Work";
- defederalizing environmental protections;
- The GOP, period.

Man Hawkeye! Was Carlin ever right on! He died too young (or maybe he didn't - he knew what he was in for - probably a decade before the rest of us did!) Although it would be nice to see him join Frankin on the Senate floor!

Couldn't get the blasted sound to play, even went directly to you tube with no luck..
And I got to see him also back in '88.
I know he to is spinning in his grave..but its because hes trying to get out because these days he'd have some of the best material ever!
Thanks Hawkeye, i'm going to find the sound for this, or die trying..
care2's "little hacking problem" hit my android rather hard, but thank god my screen turns blue, not red!

Just a Just a side note of no consequence except to me: My wife Savannah and my first “official date” was to a George Carlin Live show at the Marin Civic Center in San Rafael CA. in 1988. (Ellen, see great minds really do think and act in common mind, teehee) He truly provided us with a basses, a gateway, for our communication of our commonalities, I had only a glimpse of an idea existed when I purchased the tickets. Meanwhile his cutting critique and observations on America’s ills are still as poignant and applicable as they ever were. Needless to say he is dearly missed in our household as he holds a special place in our hearts and always will, so long as we both shall live.

Sometimes it takes a funny man to tell the sad truth! A while ago I watched several of Carlin's political monologues. He's amazingly direct and on point in every syllable he utters. I think this is probably the most succinct of his wise words. Amazing. Thanks for putting it out there, Hawkeye. Everyone in the world should she/hear this (sorry Ellen M. couldn't get the's pretty important!) and I'm surely going to pass this along. I hope everyone will. Only problem is: the ones who really need to believe what George is saying probably won't! But, let's keep on trying.

So Hawkeye, in Carlin style, you have a "ménage à trois", you, Savannah and George Carlin! I was never blessed to see him in person, but I was an avid fan. Had to be home to watch him on television in the early 70's when he would comment on the War in Vietnam. His routines were spicey, but they were honest and thought provoking, if you could stop laughing long enough to really take in his meaning. I am sure that he is still giving others something to contemplate, wherever he is now. It was after seeing several of his performances back in the late 70's early 80's that I decided, that like him, I wanted to be cremated when I die and my ashes scattered. My reasoning --- I get walked on enough in life, I don't want to spend eternity being walked on too! How prophetic he was in seeing the train coming down the track. Thanks Haweye. This was a great post.

It may be a comedy skit but sadly, I believe it is dead on. How else can one explain so many cities in crisis, so many poor and uneducated, people without health care, middle class people tottering on the brink and the never ending push to buy more?

He certain was right on spot and he did it so well through 'humor' with all seriousness,so ta say.
Thanks for the sharing Hawkeye and for the reminder via the clip of why so many of us miss George...his witt, his words of wisedom, and spot on observation skills !

Right on, Hawkeye. Thanks for the link - seen it before, glad to see it again. He certainly had it pegged. The problem is, we are in a Catch-22. If you vote for the lesser of two evils, you still get what you don't want, but if you try to vote for a third party someone-or-other, you are GUARANTEED to get the worst of two evils. . . which is probably even MORE what you don't want. Only thing we can do is "keep on occupyin'!" And use the attention that gets to start to work to unstack the deck. . . as in the amendments being proposed to get rid of "corporate personhood" and "money=speech". It's brought down dictators. . . we can hope it can undermine corporatocracy.

Thank goodness we still have a few voices that use comedy to get to the truth. Missing George Carlin? Then tune-in to Jon Stewart on The Daily Show or Real Time with Bill Maher. We must laugh at ourselves if are ever to step up and challenge the PTB.
**PTB= Powers That Be - you know who they are!

They work over time to continue to make you feel helpless and unable to change anything, to make you ignore the power in numbers.

I have seen this before but I'm glad you posted it on here. He was right on and I wish we had George Carlin back. Sometimes people hear better via humor with the message then they do reading serious material. However they get it I don't care, as long as they get it, then get up and do something about it.

George did this in a humorous style but the truth of it spells volume as it is spot on! If this reality was not so very sad, we could continue to laugh, but it is no laughing matter these days when we have finally awaken & realize how truthful it is, all of it! All of Georges video's speaks volume. he surely is missed.Thanks Hawkeye.

From teenagehood,(stuff), he was one of my faves too. He grew more and more courageous til this acerbic, emotional, truth laden expose. Love him. Miss him.
