Today on TV the President of the Chamber of Parliament almost cried as she spoke about the man who tried to shoot the politicians 3 days ago. He said it didn't even matter which one, anyone of them would do, they are all equally responsible for what is

When I was a kid, my next door neighbor used to take me to his local firing range, where he would practice shooting. He made his own bullets, which I used to help him with. But the interesting thing is, the shooting range I saw as somewhere, rather like a gymnasium where you visit to work on your body, where you could (and can) go to improve your sight and aim. Other than this, I don't see the need to carry around a gun (This right to bear arms is quite ridiculous, ludicrous and demonstrates how adolescent as a species we really are.... this NEED within to feel powerful with weaponry, takes us back to primitive Neanderthal man).

When this particular Amendment to the American Constitution gets erased and we remove weaponry from our lives, we'll start on the road to being fully fledged adult human beings. Until then, we're proving how stupid, insular and primitive we still are.

Fascinating read, thanks!
It's interesting how the system will only use punishment and not actual rehabilitation/education, mainly because those that do understand (at least part of) how the human psyche as mind consciousness works keep this knowledge 'protected' as a privileged weapon against the masses. When ideally such education should be available to all: how we function as human consciousness beings and how we can educate ourselves and build our character in integrity and in recognition of the value of life that is equal in all of us.

Sorry, but I stand up for our Second Amendment - I have the right to defend myself. And I will not stand by and be quiet while the USA tries to change my right to do so. I was trained to handle reasonable weapons by reasonable people...my Dad, and my 3 older brothers. All served this country, including the women. So don't take away my rights.

I detest violence of any kind, as well as the tools to create violence. I wish there were no guns. I wish everyone valued life and peace and no one would ever hurt anyone for any reason. It's a beautiful daydream...

It is a beautiful daydream. But if you are in your home and someone threatens you, or your loved ones with violence, rape, death....what are you going to do Leann?

Part of the problem is that we have to defend ourselves, that we 'need' an amendment with a 'right to defend ourselves'. Which shows the violence of the world that we live in today. "Defending ourselves' in violence is not solving the problem/cause, but only creating new problems as consequences. So we need to go to the source of the violence in this world and start here with solutions and re-education in equality.
