The Magical Thinking that beat up on the poor. Educate yourself so that you do not fall in the trap of magical thinking as that is only supporting the corporate state and ensure the blame to shift to the poor. Be a responsible human and drop the ego

What always annoyed me about Oprah is how she always focuses on "great achievers" and personal development, and never ask the tough questions - like why are there so many in poverty - It is sad that people like this are in a position to make a change because of there following and wealth, but they dont, and another sad thing is we as the mass of consciousness - make these people wealthy - we support them and do not insist for a change that will benefit all of life.

Very clear presentation of the reality of poverty and the absence of any actual support structure -- and how, making yourself feel worthy of being rich is not going to magically place money in your bank account and make your life a paradise when from the beginning you didn't even have effective education and parenting and there are no jobs available and a constant danger to your safety in your environment

Cris tells it like it is. It is easy to spin a dream of comfort when you are not worring about groceries & mortage payments.

When people get all bubbly and positive about my problems they are only lucky that I am not a violent person. They say I am depressed. No.I am facing homelessness. That is not depression. It's reality.

I will agree to disagree in part. Knowing Oprah's biography, she doesn't say that she achieved what she did by just wishing for it. Oprah had a very hard beginning, then she had the lucky break that led her to her father. Her father forced Oprah to read a book a week and she worked hard and studied. Yes, Oprah was in the right place at the right time, but I don't think she ever said that anyone should just sit back and wait for either a miracle or any sort of cosmic intervention. Oprah's premise is that in thinking positively and being directed one can achieve much more than one would have imagined.
