What is the matter with the song contest authorities; why don't they speak out?

Someone should stop this madness. First Euro, now Eurovision. Why everyone thinks killing is the only way to solve the problem? For many years they don't care about overpopulation of stray dogs and now they simply killing them...

No need to address the stray dog issue.....if it becomes a problem we'll just kill them!
When does the kllling begin with those who created this problem?

It only becomes a problem when those who have plenty want more!

I emailed the EBU regarding the slaughter of animals on the streets of Azerbaijan and to be honest I'm not very impressed with their reply. If you have any thoughts to push this action along then please contact me through the cause as time is running out for many thousands of cats, dogs and any other animal that is deemed to be littering the streets creating a bad image of the country to those attending a song contest.
Any help at this time would be much appreciated
Regards Dave Dillon.

Dear Mr. Dillon,

I thank you for writing to the European Broadcasting Union expressing your concerns on the issues concerning animals in Baku.

The EBU is an association of public service media organizations. We promote cooperation between broadcasters and facilitate the exchange of audiovisual content. While the EBU is very concerned about the issues that have taken place concerning animals in Baku in the last years it is not within our scope to take on issues concerning animal rights.

There are many organizations that are using the Eurovision Song Contest to highlight their causes. This, of course, is natural as the international spotlight is on the host country exposing them to much scrutiny. This spotlight often brings up issues before unearthed which we believe is good. Situations in many host countries over the years with various social and political backdrops have changed because of this global attention. The Eurovision Song Contest however remains true to its apolitical spirit. It has done so for the over 56 years and the success of this cross-border event which units millions can largely be attributed to this.

Yours sincerely,

EBU Communications Department

This situation represents the ugliest, most barbaric, most idiotic human behavior. It's also a glaring opportunity for those in decision-making positions to act logically and permanently stop this senseless violence.

Communication should be with European Union. Member or not, all countries receiving help from the EU should comply with EU ideals and compromises. It's money from citizens............ Citizens talked. If EU do not remember, pleople should remind them with the same enthusiasm they maked them remind when Romania was in need. - Time to write to the EU. Parliament and Council. BOTH.- Now, who will beguin? People talk a lot on blogs but this take a lot of people sending petitions and letters. Rights, Ideals, Compromises, Will of citizens and Law is there to be used. - By the way, Fur issue, animals from africa, animal parts, problem with asian animals etc... ALL COULD BE TALKED WITH EU BECAUSE THEY ARE BUSINESS PARTNERS OF THOSE COUNTRIES AND OR ARE THEIR BEST OR MOST DESIRED MARKET. (Plus EU is a benefactor helping in their progress) Problem of animals are not appart one from the other. It is a problem of economical interest. Then, they should be taken to business conversation. ASK EU TO STOP DOING BUSINESS AND HELPING THOSE COUNTRIES THAT ARE SO FAR FROM THEIR WELFARE TOWARDS ANIMALS INTENTIONS./////// search on EU web the kind of help they give to them. (First look for something to keep your jaw in place)
