I had seen this on FB a sure sign of the times isn't it. Geezzz - the worst things us kids had to worry about was the "bully" calling us names, pulling our hat off, and for the boys, mostly, a tussle now and again.

The more Corporate the world became, the more it turned people into consumers rather than "human beings" the more violent it has become. This is a society where HUMAN can thrive, they are treated as robots and injected, rejected, fed toxins, beaten if they step off the treadmill, abused and used. We have broken societies everywhere.

Despite the fact that the Water Protectors are being maced, beaten, shot at, sprayed upon, pissed upon, jailed, nailed, they have found among each other so many lack in the greater society, people who care and take care of each other. That will stay with them long after this event is over, because it will give them courage and leadership skills to go forth. This is only one battle of many to come........

We are all going to need our safety curtains at some point. Have courage as Alan Grayson has said. But all of us certainly need to protect the children. best we can, and the Water Protectors know that. Water not just there is being destroyed, this happens to be were the focal point is - I hope it has opened many more eyes.

Darren - I clicked on "visit site" and get to a site where I can "Sign up for Inspiration" ... ?!?!?! Thank you but I have enough inspirations ... ;-).

If my assumption is correct that after the latest school shooting in the US they call for bullet proof vests for the kids ... then I have just one question: why not trying to solve the problem at the root rather than applying time and again Aspirin?

Well said, Dandelion, and surely addressing some of the underlying problems. They need to be solved no matter the interests that prevent those solutions otherwise our societies are truly doomed.

If anyone experiences the same problem I did ... hang in there and just wait! I tried to open the site again, got side-tracked and when I went back to the site ... lo and behold ... it had opened like magic.

This is a very interesting thought and concept; the question though is: when will it materialize? It's still in the research phase, then they need the certification, then they have to set up the production plant and finally get the suitable equipment until they at some point in the future can produce. Seems like a very long road - but if the result protects lives then it sure is worth it.

I also read about Lynne and was very disturbed reading: "Eight of my nine grandchildren are being home-schooled, keeping them out of reach to those selfish lunatics who shoot little kids."

THIS is definitely not a solution to such a deep seated problem. As I said in my initial comment: solve the root cause and stop applying Aspirin - it doesn't cure.

Another thought came to my mind: if this idea really takes of and is feasible ... how long until the Military or Big Business takes it over?

The ridiculousness of the situation is this. Enshrined in the American Constitution is the right to bear arms, which means every nitwit in America thinks they have a God Given Right to buy a gun to "protect" themselves against. . . [name your imagined enemy].

Of course, ANY project that the "authorities" perceive as having a military application WILL be pursued if it's any good.

So, you either remove this ridiculous ruling that allows everyone in America to buy a gun, THUS INCREASING the chances of innocents being killed accidentally, OR. . .

Noted, thanks Darren. The roots of this problem are on so many levels. And each child across America is a potential target, as well as everybody. "Enemies" are everywhere, and there a targets aplenty. I sincerely hope that this project will be a success. And I especially hope that everyone will be able to feel safe.
