Noted. I'm no scientist, but living within the "ring of fire" myself, I consider it a good bet that those plates have not yet settled.

I'm looking for the day that Japan is no more since the whole island has shifted during the quake and is just balancing on a peddle stool. That would be horriable if Japan slid off into the ocean. I'm sure were due severe quakes else where far grater than that of Japan. Just a matter of time.

After shocks? Some of these are major earthquakes in their own right.

noted and thank you Anna, I feel that its only a matter of time before we too will begin to have our own major earthquakes according to some of the scientist's who study this. There are a lot of faults most do not even know of, many blessings to all, aho.
