To support people who have chosen a so-called profession of killing is against my moral sense.
I read inj this article "MANY HAVE JOINED THE MILITARY TO PROUDLY SERVE OUR COUNTRY
….OUR HONORABLE SOLDIERS". Expressions like this make me feel disgust. Where did these people serve proudly the country? In Iraq? Or in Vietnam or where else?. How can a person kill with pride? And then these people are honorable? Is this a normal kind of thinking and feeling? NOT FOR ME!!!

Ralph it's a good job most Americans don't think like you otherwise they might be speaking Japanese or German by now. God bless America and the young people who look after its security.

hak god most Americans do not feel the way R.X. feels! I may not support illegal wars or police actions, however the men and women that have chosen the military as their profession, have not done so to kill people, they have done so to serve and protect our country! They are honorable men and women.
By the way most Vietnam vets did not have a choice, most were drafted and sent there by our government. The blame for police actions and illegal wars should be put where it belongs, in the hands of the Commander in Chief at the time, not the young men and women that honorably serve their country!

Thank you all for noting & taking action and those of you that left sensible comments...

~Peace~

This needs a group research effort to create rock solid information to bring to congress.

At the end of the day, the purpose of the system is to do just this: kill

Congress has to understand that this system, inherited from ancient empires, has to go, and be replaced by community based systems, which would include local defense organizations. The overall problem will not go away for at least our life times, so defense is a necessity -- but not as a empire system.

I see that you people have a moral that there is a good and a bad killing. Indeed I can speak German. I do not think that my moral is caused in my language or any country (I do not understand that logic anyway). Here America is known that killing seems to be a solution for many things. Indeed we Europeans think different. To say that people who chose the profession of a soldier did not do this to kill... Maybe they think that their gun is to paint pictures, and the ammunition is a kind of decoration to carry around. What is going on with you people?

This upsets me to no end!!! THis is another good example of how badly the Bush Gang messed up our entire military respectability~~~

For the reasons of this killing I found this information some time ago: The drill and education of soldiers is like a brainwash to make well working fighters out of them. Often the experiences they make in ware have a very bad result for their psyche. Soldiers with an aggressive personality become more aggressive in war and have less scruples to kill than normal. When they come back from war they remain still in this emotional state of easy killing which makes a kind of active bomb out of them. Some years ago I watched an interview with an US army sharp shooter in Iraq. He was asked if he does not have problems to kill children. He said, 'Yes, they are so small and therefore difficult to hit'! Good morning America!

I think Ralph, that you may have missed a vital point or 2. First, this petition is to urge congress to look into the murders occurring within the military. This prompts the question, Why?
Why are they being murdered, who are they, what are they saying, what are they doing, what do they know?
Second, I think you are overlooking much in regards to recruitment tactics, and desperation, particularly in these difficult economic times. Our youth are lied to, they join to get an education, or a pay check, they are actually told they will never see battle. Others are conditioned, by media and society, to believe that we must fight. When thrust into a situation they learn is wrong, those who speak out are often punished, and sometimes silenced. This petition is for them. For those who have come to see that they were wrong, or that they were lied to.
The situation is sickening to be sure, but despising the whole because some few do join to kill is doing our society, our youth, and nation, and our planet a disservice. For the sake of the future, the question of why needs to be examined.

Hi Laura. I understand that point. There were also these killings in schools here and there, children killing their parents and more.. I think that these things (maybe also the killing in the army) have something in common. It is not coincidence that these things happen now and at the same time here and in the US. Their might be something behind. Everything has a reason. You know, action and reaction. However I am against killing for any reason except defending oneself.
