It may sound simple, but one way to significantly reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions is through energy efficiency. Investing in energy efficiency could reduce GHG emissions by 1.1 gigatons a year, according to a report by McKinsey & Company.

I would love to get more energy efficient. I was recently informed by a local Hyundai dealer that my 19 year old Honda Accord is not eligible for the Cash for Klunker deal because as a new car it got 22mph. Am I correct in thinking that this program is skewed by using the efficiency rating for a new car on a car way past its prime? The fact that my car is only running on 3 cylinders and gulping gas like an old caddi apparently has no bearing in this klunker deal. It this really true?, or was I being snowed? Any one out there got any info or answers?
