The EPA increases herbicide tolerance (again), allowing even more glyphosate to threaten the health of farmers, eaters and the environment.

Every American has a right to know what's in their food. Sign on to tell Congress to pass the Genetically Engineered Food..

Glyphosate is being used to dry-down non-GMO crops such as rice, beans, etc., for quicker harvesting so these foods now not only have surface Round-up, but it's also been taken up into the cells of the food we eat.

Seems no food is safe from Monsanto's long arms. It is nothing short of a aggressive act to control all agriculture, all that we eat. Control the food, control the people. :(

Conventional (non-GE/GMO) is no longer enough. We have to go organic or to those we know who grow food.

I agree Syd, that's why I'm eating organic for years.
Since a short time my husband is also convinced of all the pollution and terrible stuff what's in these products and only want to eat organic. His health is improved.

Until we have an exact definition of what "organic" means, how those crops can or can not be grown we don't really know that the crops didn't come from the same field and we are just paying more for organic. Buy what you can locally, know the farmers and how they grow the crops. The EPA is gambling with our lives, the ultimate result of accumulated chemicals in our system, and how it will affect us over time. Monsanto is the most dangerous corporation, they are controlling our food and have fingers in every aspect of the government.

Well, I certainly had my idea of organic in my head (as I not only would not buy Safeway's "O" brand but I would buy nothing from Safeway, an evil company in its own right tho I'd likely go there over Wal-Mart) but if the choice is organic corn chips (something I less than rarely buy) and local, I will go with the organic as it cannot be dried-down with glyphosate. Same with rice & with beans.

I also do my best to go with local and those who also grow organically (to the ideals before the USDA became involved).

The point is, we need to *know* our food. Ignorance is not bliss, or safe.

Why wasn't this posted earlier(before July 1)?

The date has passed when we could have effectively provided input comments to the EPA.

I think it has to be 'certified' organic. Is there a certification system there?
