|This healthy Mule Deer Buck was photographed on a ranch near Alpine, Texas, USA. I spotted him from a distance and gradually inched my way toward him without disturbing him. Desert Mule Deer in the Big Bend area are larger than White Tailed Deer that are found in almost all regions of Texas. Mule Deer are the most likely kind of deer that visitors to the Big Bend area can expect to see in State and National parks and along highways. Mule Deer have adapted well to desert conditions.
