This furry little puppy's name is Promise. She was one of the first wolf pups to be born in Yellowstone National Park in more than half a century. Wolves in America's lower 48 states nearly became extinct due to bounty hunters and fur peddlers who recklessly slaughtered thousands of these majestic animals. Defenders of Wildlife stepped in and made history by helping to bring wolves back to Yellowstone National Park. Today, wolves like Promise have the chance to correct a sad chapter in American history.

But even now, the wolf families are not safe. You can help by "adopting" a wolf like Promise today. Click here to find out how.
