Moon Over Mount Shuksan, 1994.North Cascades National Park, Washington.
There are two very photogenic lakes in this area on the fringe of North Cascades National Park. I noticed a nice organization of reeds near the shoreline of one of the lakes, and carefully organized this shot. As I was setting up the camera, the moon began to appear through the diffuse clouds. This is one of my more difficult prints to make, particularly creating the right balance of values in the distant areas near the top of the image. I return to this area frequently, as itís one of my favorite places to visit and photograph.
