The agricultural terraces of Moray were an ancient form of landscape cultivation incorporating different elevations of land, providing warmer temperatures as one descended the terrace. The potato was harvested here which originated in the Andes!

Besides being an important agricultural center to the Inca, Moray is still considered a sacred site even today. Offerings of coca leaves are left here in appreciation for the gifts of abundance bestowed on mankind by the earthmother "Pachamama."
