Known as the “Lost City of the Incas,” Machupicchu is believed by many to have been an ancient sanctuary of spirituality for the “Priestesses of the Sun.” The Spanish invaders who decimated the Incan Empire, never found the city. The site was re-discovered, fully intact in 1911, by American explorer Hiram Bingham.
