A graceful brown antelope found on the open plains of Africa, from northern Kenya to South Africa. An adult impala can leap as far as 30 feet in a single bound. Mothers and their young live in herds of 50 to 100. Fear or excitement can send a herd leaping and bounding in all directions, confusing would-be predators.
