| This is a pencil drawing of an african elephant. These creatures draw up so
much awe in me. They look old and wise, gentle and kind, yet carry with
them so much force and strength. The matriarch of a herd is an older female
who leads the others in the herd. All the elephants look to her for
guidance, as she makes all the decisions. Here, she stands alone, staring,
guarding, thinking, protecting.
