Great White Heron

The Great White Heron is found in southern Florida and is a form of the Great Blue Heron (ardea herodias). The Great White Heron differs from the Great Blue Heron by its leg color, which is yellow instead of black. The National Wildlife Federation has an office in southern Florida that works on restoring the Everglades; an ecosystem brought to its knees by man's misguided attempts to re-plumb its natural waterflow. Learn more about the Federation's Everglades work and the wildlife that call it home by visiting NWF's Internet site,
