Wednesday evening......UPDATE ON MICHAEL
THIS IS AN UPDATE FROM THE ABOVE MEMBER - WHO IS JEANETTE!
After a long and busy day, I finally sat down long enough to call and check on Michael. He answered the phone and sounded wonderful. He said they had him up and he walked a little bit today with no pain. Praise God.
The doctor said he is doing much better than most patients with knee surgery. He will be going home tomorrow and Saturday start home physical therapy treatments. It's all behind him now but the healing.
He said to thank everyone for their prayers.

Pray for Israel!

For centuries hardly a single voice was raised in confession of the sins of the Church against the Jews. Times have changed and the Spirit of the Lord is calling us to a new heart towards His Chosen People. We can be sure God is working mightily towards that day when Israel will be as "life from the dead" (Rom. 11:15) for the unbelieving Gentile world.

An Act of Penitence

  1. For the cruelty of Christian people to the Jews in past generations.
  2. For the revival of anti-Semitism in Christianized countries.
  3. For words and deeds which have often made the name of Christian a symbol of oppression and hatred.
  4. For racial prejudice and exclusiveness, rampant among Christians in many lands, and showing itself in our own country.
  5. For our own indifference, and for our readiness to condemn the sins of others and to forget our own.

An Act of Intercession

  1. For the Jews of Russia and Ukraine subjected to persecution and contempt.
  2. For Jewish families, our neighbors and fellow-citizens, to desire to go home to Israel while there is an open door.
  3. For all governments dealing with Israel, that they may have the will and courage to do what is fair and right.
  4. For the leaders of the Church in America, that they may show forth the spirit of Christ in all their dealings with the Jewish people.
  5. For all those working to bring reconciliation between Jew and Christian.

An Act of Thanksgiving

  1. For the writings of the Hebrew prophets and for all the scriptures of the Jews.
  2. For the coming of the Son of David to be the Savior of all mankind.
  3. For the willingness of many Jews to forgive the wrongs which they have suffered through the centuries.
  4. For the courage of the many pastors who stand against replacement theology in all parts of the Church and support Israel wherever they can.
  5. For the re-establishment of the Nation of Israel and the hope it gives the Church.

A Prayer for the Jewish People and the Land of Israel

God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob,

have mercy on Your ancient people, the house of Israel .
We confess that Your Church has added to their affliction.
We have rejoiced over the children of Judah

in the day of their desolation

and spoken proudly in the day of their distress.
Deliver them from any storm of persecution.
Fulfill your Covenant promises

for Jerusalem and the Land of Israel .
Bring them home to their promised land

from the four corners of the earth as you have promised.
Speedily give to them all the mercy and blessing you have proclaimed.
Pour out your Spirit of grace and supplications.
Keep them secure in the land of their inheritance,

build the walls of Jerusalem

and make it the joy of the whole earth.
Hear us, O LORD, for Your Name's sake,

and answer us for Your honor,

through Jesus Christ.

PRAY FOR AKIM GAMA February 16, 2008 4:52 PM

Akim Gama Monday, 8:24 AM
Support Akim

Henry Akim Gama came to America in 2000, hoping for political asylum after fleeing his native Zimbabwe. It’s an African country locked in political turmoil where Akim has estimated that as many as 30,000 members of his African tribe have been killed.
In September he was arrested in Glenwood Springs at his place of work, rivers Restaurant, after missing an immigration court date. Akim could be blamed for missing the court date but as an outsider to this country he put his trust in the hands of his legal representatives, and they let him down.
He now has a new legal team trying to help.
Akim currently awaits deportation from an Aurora, Colo. detention center, where he’s been locked up for the past five months.
There's some good news. An emergency stay of removal motion has been filed on Akim’s behalf by the Immigration board of appeals.
This doesn’t guarantee he will be granted asylum but it’s a start.
Akim entered the country legally, has paid taxes and has always been employed. He’s had a tremendous impact on this community, and has talked to local students at schools about the troubles of Zimbabwe.
He’s a man who deserves a chance at asylum. He demonstrated that he was a valuable member of this community.
The Post Independent is providing this link for people who want to show their support for Akim or post a message for him. We at the newspaper will forward messages to members of congress and senate as well as getting the personal support comments to Akim.
Just click the "Post Comment" on the page where you wish to leave your comment. You DO NOT have to subscribe or sign up.
And I just want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart for posting this information.

Please pray for the people of Myanmar and China.
Death toll in Myanmar is 68,000 and may reach 127,995 and  another storm on the way.
China nearly 15,000 Its sad to see all the disitations coming on the poor people. The army of Myanmar is hording up the relief aid giving the poor people spoilt supply's. That shows how their government don't care for their people. I pray God will send the Holy Spirit in to the lands planting seeds saving souls. Turning the people to the face of God recognizing the one and true God of Salvation through the shed blood of Jesus Christ amen.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – More than a million homes and businesses were left in the cold without power Thursday in the wake of an icy winter storm could face a lengthy wait for electricity to come back, even as federal help was promised to two states hit hardest by the blast.

President Barack Obama signed requests late Wednesday from Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear and Arkansas Gov. Mike Beebe for federal emergency declarations. Crews — even the National Guard in Kentucky — worked around the clock to resurrect power lines downed by thick ice.

At a mall turned into a staging area in Barboursville, W.Va., crews in hard hats met alongside piles of poles, generators, wire and other supplies to find out where to go first. A convoy with crews from as far away as North Carolina was there to help.

"We're attacking it head on," said Appalachian Power spokesman Phil Moye. "As long as the ice is still on the trees, the storm is still here."

Utility officials estimated more than 1.3 million homes and businesses from Arkansas to Ohio were powerless, and warned it could be mid-February before some customers had power.

Update on Asia Bibi

A Pakistani newspaper reported Asia Bibi was "tortured" in prison last week, but her husband Ashiq says it's not true. Asia is detained in a special high security cell that only jail management can access.

A new female prison officer got angry with Asia, but others intervened before the officer could beat Asia. The woman was suspended for three months by jail management.

Through Ashiq, Asia said, "The jail management is good to me." One of the officers is particularly caring toward Asia.

Thank the Lord that he is caring for Asia, even in prison. Continue to ask for her release.
