Railroad Crossing Ghosts Children

Just south of San Antonio, Texas, sits an intersection of roadway & railroad track. According to local legend, this was a site of a tragic accident involving a school bus that killed several children. The children`s ghosts are said to still linger at the spot pushing stalled cars off of the railroad tracks, even though the path is uphill. It`s also said that if you sprinkle talcum powder on the back of your car & the bumper, you can see tiny hand & fingerprints on the car.

This theory is questioned greatly, because the oils from a person`s hand can linger for a very long time. It has been claimed that these fingerprints were already there before these experiments are conducted. But we were contacted by Ann Gallegos, a San Antonio resident that says she washed her car before trying the experiment & the fingerprints still appeared. You can read her actual e-mail below.

This photo was taken by the daughter of Andy & Debi Chesney, who was at the sight doing her own investigation fueled by all of the many reports of paranormal activity at the site. The transparent image that wasn`t discovered on the photo until the next day appears to be either a little girl holding a teddy bear, or a little girl with a dog sitting at her feet.

A search of records at the San Antonio Police Department & local newspaper archives turned up no evidence of a tragic accident at that location in which any children were killed. Surveyors recently studied the area & found that the uphill incline is actually an optical illusion, claiming that it`s actually a downhill grade. There have been dozens of reports by people over the years claiming to hear the sound of children laughing & playing at the site. We`ve provided enlarged versions of the photograph & zoomed in so you can study the photo for yourself. Are these ghosts we`re seeing here, or is it energy accumulated by thought forms of people visiting the site?

Although there is no explanation for the images on the photos & they may be the real thing, it`s important that I explain some facts about the alleged school bus accident. There is a lot of debate of the actual date of this deadly accident. There are no records of any such accident with the local newspaper archives, nor the San Antonio Police Department. Certainly a story this tragic would be documented somewhere.

Surveyors have confirmed that this up hill grade is actually an optical illusion & you must stop your vehicle at least 80 feet before the tracks in order to get enough momentum to completely cross the tracks. The finger prints on the bumper & back of the vehicle could be months & even years old. Oils from your skin can last for a long time & even survive rain. Rather than using soap to wash your car prior to doing the talcum powder experiment, try using a degreaser & scrub hard.

According to the former director of transportation of the San Antonio Independent School District, Robert Zamora, there were no school buses on that stretch of road until 1967. So there are many holes in the school bus story that may or may not prove it`s truth. But that still has no reflection on the photos of the ghosts taken there.

Girl With A Dog?
This location has drawn quite the attention in the San Antonio area & many people visit the site regularly. Every legitamate person that has contacted us reports that this phenomenon is true. Melissa Woodruff recently visited the site & took many pictures. The picture below is looking down the train tracks & Melissa caught an image of what looks very much like the girl in the above photos.

Lonesome Man

By Lauren of Ohio

"Uncle Sal was his name," my friend, Jess, told me one morning at school. "Last night as I was doing my homework, I heard a noise and I looked up and standing in the corner of my room was my Uncle Sal."

"Didn't you tell me that one of your uncles died a month ago? What was his name 'cause I thought you said your Uncle Sal died?" I interrupted her.

"Yes, my Uncle Sal did die, but there he was, standing in the corner of my room last night! I was too frightened to say a word at first but when I finally found my voice I screamed for my mother. Uncle Sal just disappeared after that."

I thought Jess had made up the whole thing but later that week, she came to me excitedly and said, "Guess what happened! Uncle Sal came back!"

"What?" I had almost forgotten the whole thing.

"You know how I told you about my Uncle Sal visited me last week?"

"Oh, yes," I remembered, "So, what happened? Did he come back to see you again?"

"No, not exactly. My mother was in the laundry room and she was talking to herself. She was sort of saying that she has not gone to visit Uncle Sal's grave yet and she think she should go soon," Jessica narrated the story. "Then, out of no where, she heard a voice talking back to her, 'Yes, why haven't you visited my grave yet? I went to Jessica's room a few days ago but she was scared seeing me.'"

"Geez, you mom must have freaked out," I said.

"My mother was so scared she ran to my room and pulled me into the car. She drove to the cemetery immediately and as we were paying our respects to Uncle Sal, I could feel him standing really close by. Then, a voice in the wind whispered thank you. We could easily recognise that it was Uncle Sal's voice."

An eerie image of a figure at a Scottish castle has got ghost experts spooked.
tantallon-ghost

The scary shot was unearthed during the biggest ever investigation into photographic evidence of ghosts.

The picture, taken in May last year, shows a spectral figure in fifteenth century dress peering out of a barred window at Tantallon Castle in Fife.

No mannequins or costumed guides are used at the castle and photo experts have confirmed that no digital trickery was used.

Even ghost sceptic Professor Richard Wiseman admitted to being puzzled.

"It is certainly very curious," he said.

"We ran it by three photographic experts and they said it hadn't been Photoshopped at all.

‘ We ran it by three photographic experts and they said it hadn't been Photoshopped at all ’

"The figure appears to be in period costume, but we know 100 per cent that Tantallon Castle is not the sort of place that has dummies or costumed guides; they just don't go in for that sort of thing.

"I suppose it could be a visitor looking a little bit strange. Perhaps someone will come forward. Another possibility is an odd reflection of sunlight, but it does look very like a person. The explanation is not obvious."

Tantallon Castle, a ruined fortress dating back to the 14th century, stands on a remote rocky headland near North Berwick on the East coast of Scotland. It was badly damaged in an attack by Oliver Cromwell's forces in 1651.

Christopher Aitchison, who took the photo, said: "I was not aware of anyone, or anything, being present in my picture."

Psychologist Prof Wiseman, from the University of Hertfordshire, who has made many studies of the supernatural, launched the investigation a month ago.

Members of the public were asked to submit ghostly images for experts to analyse, the best of which were posted on the website www.scienceofhauntings.com.

More than 250 pictures were received from all over the world and more than a quarter of a million people voted for what they considered to be the most convincing photos.

OOOOOOOOO I BELIEVE January 22, 2009 2:47 AM

BACK IN THE 1970s I WAS A POLICEMAN IN A SMALL TOWN IN CHESHIRE ENGLAND, WHERT I WAS A FOOT PATROL OFFICER .
ONE COLD WET NOVEMBER NIGHT , ABOUT 2AM I WAS TAKING SHELTER IN A SHOP DOORWAY [HAVING A SMOKE ACTUALLY], WHEN FROM THE CORNER OF MY EYE , I SAW MOVEMENT.
LOOKING DOWN THE ROAD I SAW AN OLD MAN RIDING A PENNY FARTHING , WEARING TOP HAT AND TAILS .
TAKEN ABACK I WATCHED AS HE CAME LEVEL . WHEREUPON HE RAISED HIS HAT TO ME AND CONTINUED UP THE ROAD TO THE CORNER WHERE HE TURNED .
I QUICKLY FOLLOWED , BUT AT THE CORNER HE HAD DISAPEARED ,WHICH WAS IMPOSSIBLE AS THE ROAD HAD HIGH WALLS EACH SIDE ....THERE WAS NO WAY FOR HIM TO GO.

CONFUSED I WALKED BACK TO MY SHELTER ,AND THERE I WAS LATER FOUND BY MY SARGENT WHO ASKED WHAT WAS WRONG.
I EXPLAINED WHAT I HAD SEEN AND HE TOLD ME ......
"THATS OLD TOM , HE WAS KILLED ON THIS ROAD ,NEARLY 100 YERAS AGO , IN FACT HE WAS THE FIRST PERSON TO BE KILLED BY A CAR IN THE TOWN.
EVERY NOW AND AGAIN HE TAKES THE SAME RUN AND DISAPEARS .....IVE SEEN HIM ONCE AND I KNOW OF AT LEAST ONE OTHER OFFICER WHO HAS SEEN HIM"

I NEVER SAW TOM AGAIN

Most people know of at least one ghost story that has been told as being true within their family. Many of us even remember living near a haunted house when we were young.

As children we tend to believe these ghost stories are real, but by the time we grow up we often consider ghosts to be as mythical as Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny or the Great Pumpkin.

Theories about ghosts, hauntings and things that go bump..

Residual Hauntings or Recordings
Some ghosts appear to be mere recordings on the environment in which they once existed. A civil war soldier is seen on repeated occasions staring out a window at a house where he once stood guard. A dead child's laughter is heard echoing in a hallway where she often played. There are even cases of ghost cars and trains that can still be heard and sometimes seen, even though they are long gone. These types of ghosts do not interact with or seem to be aware of the living. Their appearance and actions are always the same. They are like spirit-level recordings - residual energies - that replay over and over again.

"A traumatic moment in time leaves an indelible impression on the building or area," says Strange Nation in "What Is a Ghost?," "replaying itself for eternity. This could be anything from a 'glimpse of the past' - a recreation of some traumatic or emotion-laden event - to footsteps up and down a hallway."

What causes these recordings to be made and how and why they are played back is a mystery. "How and why past events are recorded and replayed repetitiously is not understood," writes Lauren Forcella. "Whatever the actual mechanism, it apparently possesses longevity as the encore performances of a haunting can continue for decades or longer. Generally, the haunting is a fragment or portion of an actual event."

Messengers
These kinds of ghosts may be the most common. These spirits usually appear shortly after their deaths to people close to them. They are aware of their deaths and can interact with the living. They most often bring messages of comfort to their loved ones, to say that they are well and happy, and not to grieve for them. These ghosts appear briefly and usually only once. It is as if they intentionally return with their messages for the express purpose of helping the living cope with their loss.

"This category commonly involves one-time visits to someone with whom the apparition has close emotional ties," says Lauren Forcella at Paranormal Investigations, who calls these ghosts "crisis apparitions." "Though the encounter usually seems to be a type of farewell, sometimes important and useful information is relayed to the 'viewer.' Though dying is the most common crisis, other life-threatening situations can also trigger apparitional visits."

Poltergeists
This type of haunting is the most feared by people because it has the greatest ability to affect our physical world. Poltergeists are blamed for unexplained noises, such as wall-banging, rapping, footsteps and even music. They take our possessions and hide them, only to return them later. They turn on faucets, slam doors, turn lights on and off, and flush toilets. They throw things across rooms. They have been known to pull on people's clothing or hair. The malevolent ones even slap and scratch the living. It is because of these sometimes "mean-spirited" manifestations that poltergeists are considered by some investigators to be demonic in nature.

Other investigators, however, believe that poltergeist activity is not caused by ghosts at all, but by certain living people under stress. "During a poltergeist experience," writes Lauren Forcella, "the agent, in an attempt to relieve emotional stress, unknowingly causes the physical disturbances using mental forces. The mental mechanism that allows the poltergeist agent to unconsciously cause these physical disturbances is called psychokinesis."

Projections
The skeptics' point of view - if they are willing to admit there is anything to haunting experiences at all - is that they are all in our minds, or are products of our own minds. Ghosts, they say, are psychological phenomena: we see them because we expect to or want to see them. A grieving widow sees her dead husband because she needs to; she needs the comfort of knowing that he is alright and happy in the next world. Her mind produces the experience to help itself cope with the stress of the loss. Since we know so little about the power and capacity of our own minds, it's possible that they can even produce physical manifestations, such as apparitions and noises - projections that even others may be able to see and hear. But they are not "real" in any sense, say the skeptics, just the conjurings of powerful imaginations.

Ghosts And Things That Go Bump In The Night January 20, 2009 10:15 AM

You've seen them depicted in movies, read stories of their unnerving activities and have seen television shows and documentaries sensationalizing them. You have probably seen rare photos of them and have likely heard of first-hand ghostly encounters from friends and relatives. . Perhaps you have even seen a ghost yourself.

But what are ghosts? : No one knows for certain.

There are, however, many theories to explain the thousands upon thousands of documented experiences that people around the world have had since the beginning of recorded history. Ghosts and hauntings seem to be a relatively common part of the human experience. And there appear to be several types of ghosts or hauntings, and more than one theory may be needed to explain them all.

Dead people
The traditional view of ghosts is that they are the spirits of dead people that for some reason are "stuck" between this plane of existence and the next, often as a result of some tragedy or trauma. Many ghost hunters and psychics believe that such earth-bound spirits don't know they are dead. Veteran ghost hunter Hans Holzer says, "A ghost is a human being who has passed out of the physical body, usually in a traumatic state and is not aware usually of his true condition. We are all spirits encased in a physical body. At the time of passing, our spirit body continues into the next dimension. A ghost, on the other hand, due to trauma, is stuck in our physical world and needs to be released to go on."

Ghosts exist in a kind of limbo in which they haunt the scenes of their deaths or locations that were pleasant to them in life. Very often, these types of ghosts are able to interact with the living. They are, on some level, aware of the living and react to being seen on the occasions that they materialize. Some psychics claim to be able to communicate with them. And when they do, they often try to help these spirits to understand that they are dead and to move on to the next stage of their existence.

I hope some of our group members will share some ghost stories with us..I have experienced what some call an encounter with ghosts when I was growing up but in my home we were taught not to be frieghtened by a ghost..I know from expereinec there are things that are called ghosts but I don't know what they were..There are many theories about what ghosts are and I will post some of those theories below..
