Take These Thoughts With You
On Your Journey To Your Dreams

Don't ever forget that you are unique. Be your best self and not an imitation of someone else.

Find your strength and use them in a positive way. Don't listen to those who ridicule the choices you make.

Travel the road that you have chosen and don't look back with regret. You have to take chances to make your dreams happen.

Remember that there is plenty of time to travel another road - and still another - in your journey through life.

Take the time to find the route that is right for you. You will learn something valuable from every trip you take, so don't be afraid to make mistakes.

Tell yourself that you're okay just the way you are. Make friends who respect your true self.

Take the time to be alone, too, so you can know just how terrific your own company can be.

Remember that being alone doesn't always mean being lonely; it can be a beautiful experience of finding your creativity, your heartfelt feelings, and the calm and quiet peace deep inside you.

Don't ever forget that you are special and you have within you the ability to make your dreams come true.

Our road continues, and I meet you here today, Patti H~  Thank you*

It's hard to imagine what lies up ahead.
The road fades away with each wandering twist.
The thicket obscures any path I might tread,
And the way appears shrouded by curtains of mist.

But walking beside me as I plod along
Is my hiking companion who's walked here before.
His hand which grasps mine is assuredly strong.
He's been down this road and knows what is in store.

He's cut through the brambles and made me a trail.
He's mapped out a way through the threatening gorge.
He's climbed every hill and surveyed every dale,
And waded through each rushing stream I must forge.

So while I may not know which way I shall turn,
I'll grasp His warm hand which is bigger than mine,
And know that I have not a care or concern;
For my journey through life is the Lord's to define.

It's hard to imagine what lies up ahead.
The road fades away with each wandering twist.
The thicket obscures any path I might tread,
And the way appears shrouded by curtains of mist.

But walking beside me as I plod along

All our mysteries intertwine as branches of a forest and as the leaves bring us beauty they fall as well upon the reach soil for another forest to rise up and we walk again in the new growth, feel the gentle water upon our faces, and we will meet once more to give each other strength as the creator brings us friends, like you.  ~ dot a

your travelling companions roam freely as well.  For each of us

must find the way which fulfilles our hearts, as happiness for every

along the road of life - Halloween occurs:

Why Do We Celebrate Halloween

On October 31st, we celebrate Halloween, thought to be the one night of the year when ghosts, witches, and fairies are especially active.  But why do we celebrate halloween?  The easy answer to this question is that no one really knows the origins of Halloween.  What we do know for sure is that Halloween is on the eve of a major Catholic festival, All Saints (1st November) and the eve of the pagan Celtic festival known as Samhain.

The three days between 31st October and 2nd November see pagan and Christian celebrations intertwined in a fascinating way and is a perfect example of superstition struggling with religious belief.  Currently, it is widely thought that Halloween originated as a pagan Celtic festival of the dead related to the Irish and Scottish Samhain, but there is no evidence that it was connected with the dead in pre-Christian times.

Neither the word Halloween or the date 31 October are mentioned in any Anglo Saxontext indicating that it was just an ordinary day a thousand years ago.  From the Medieval period (1066 – 1485) through to the 19th century, there is no evidence that 31 October was anything else other than the eve of All Saints Day.  From the 19th Century to the present day, 31st October has increasingly acquired a reputation as a night on which ghost, witches, and fairies, are especially active.

In the year 835 AD the Roman Catholic Church made 1st November a church holiday to honour all the saints. Although it was a joyous holiday it was also the eve of All Souls Day, so in Medieval times it became customary to pray for the dead on this date.  Another name for All Saints Day is ‘All Hallows‘ (hallow is an archaic English word for ‘saint&rsquo. The festival began on All Hallows Eve, the last night of October.

Hi Patti and John*

Hello there Patti and John! & All!

Desiderata

Go placidly amid the noise and haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible, without surrender, be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even to the dull and ignorant; they too have their story. Avoid loud and aggressive persons; they are vexations to the spirit. If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain or bitter, for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself. Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own career, however humble, it's a real possession in the changing fortunes of time. Exercise caution in your business affairs, for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals, and everywhere life is full of heroism. Be yourself. Especially do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantement, it is as perrenial as the grass. Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth. Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness. Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive him to be. And whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace in your soul. With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.

How are you today?  What's in your thoughts?  Do you find yourself cherished?, for surely you are Cherished along the roads you have travelled in life.  Often we forget that,...   But the universe never forgets us no matter how distracted the days become.  If you can see the sky, it will speak to you regarding the vast awesome wonders of which you are living, right now~  If you hear the chirping of birdies, they will inform you of a mighty web of life you are weaving - right now.  If you touch your own skin, you can feel the precious vibrations of a miracle, and it is you~  Let the road always take you to the place where your love lives strong and sure, and fill you with all things wonderful, for that is the road up ahead....

and every deer will follow -

- for this is the golden rule of life,.....

For we are all most precious and most valuable, as each breeze carries the summer's leaves along its seasons, so too are we swept along the path, and slide easily to another destination.  Know that you are precious, and loved, and exquisite in all things beautiful.

Payback can be a bitch.  So can an old, angry woman.

Janice

Seniors Banking... PRICELESS!!

Shown below, is an actual letter that was sent to a bank by an 86 year old woman.

The bank manager thought it amusing enough to have it published in the Times.

Dear Sir:

I am writing to thank you for bouncing my cheque with which I endeavoured to pay my plumber last month.

By my calculations, three nanoseconds must have elapsed between his presenting the cheque and the arrival in my account of the funds needed to honor it..

I refer, of course, to the automatic monthly deposit of my entire pension, an arrangement which, I admit, has been in place for only eight years.

You are to be commended for seizing that brief window of opportunity, and also for debiting my account £30 by way of penalty for the inconvenience caused to your bank.

My thankfulness springs from the manner in which this incident has caused me to rethink my errant financial ways. I noticed that whereas I personally answer your telephone calls and letters, --- when I try to contact you, I am confronted by the impersonal, overcharging, pre-recorded, faceless entity which your bank has become.

From now on, I, like you, choose only to deal with a flesh-and-blood person.

My mortgage and loan repayments will therefore and hereafter no longer be automatic, but will arrive at your bank, by cheque, addressed personally and confidentially to an employee at your bank whom you must nominate.

Be aware that it is an OFFENSE under the Postal Act for any other person to open such an envelope.

Please find attached an Application Contact which I require your chosen employee to complete.

I am sorry it runs to eight pages, but in order that I know as much about him or her as your bank knows about me, there is no alternative.

Please note that all copies of his or her medical history must be countersigned by a Notary Public figure, and the mandatory details of his/her financial situation (income, debts, assets and liabilities) must be accompanied by documented proof.

In due course, at MY convenience, I will issue your employee with a PIN number which he/she must quote in dealings with me.

I regret that it cannot be shorter than 28 digits but, again, I have modelled it on the number of button presses required of me to access my account balance on your phone bank service.

As they say, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

Let me level the playing field even further.

When you call me, press buttons as follows:

IMMEDIATELY AFTER DIALLING, PRESS THE STAR (*) BUTTON FOR ENGLISH

#1. To make an appointment to see me

#2.. To query a missing payment.

#3. To transfer the call to my living room in case I am there.

#4 To transfer the call to my bedroom in case I am sleeping.

#5. To transfer the call to my toilet in case I am attending to nature.

#6. To transfer the call to my mobile phone if I am not at home.

#7. To leave a message on my computer, a password to access my computer is required.

Password will be communicated to you at a later date to that Authorized Contact mentioned earlier.

#8. To return to the main menu and to listen to options 1 to 9

#9. To make a general complaint or inquiry.

The contact will then be put on hold, pending the attention of my automated answering service.

While this may, on occasion, involve a lengthy wait, uplifting music will play for the duration of the call.

Regrettably, but again following your example, I must also levy an establishment fee to cover the setting up of this new arrangement.

May I wish you a happy, if ever so slightly less prosperous New Year?

Your Humble Client

You Never Walk Alone.

How many times has that phrase come to mind in my own life,... (?)  Can't count them,.... But, for sure I know that these are powerful words.  For when the challenges seem too much to bear, I hear these words whisper from a soft place within, and then, I hear them from the core of my very being, and then I hear them for every beat of my heart.  In my heart the message is most clearly heard.  For who has not felt the isolation of personal troubles, or the struggle of our human pain, or the let down of a particular hope?  And then, the 'walker' of the Loving Universe steps up along side of me - to say, I am still with you,... As from the beginning and unto that which you cannot see, I am walking as your comforter and your companion.  It is the source of all our victories over every human condition.  As We Never Walk Alone, for Love has carried us over every trial, and delivers us - as we allow His Presence~

Well Now,

over the weekend, the ankle injury from

Friday took presidence, and fun was keyed

down to "stay nested on the sofa" and

walk only when necessary.

Years ago the left ankle was shattered by

a crashing fall which took its toll after

years of restaurant walking.  It was a very

large restaurant, too, and if someone

requested the ketchup for their New York

steak, it was a block to get it.  So, the

busted ankle gave way to cumulative trauma

and the left leg couldn't do the work anymore.

This weekend was a rememberance of those

years of pain and struggle.  My job now is a

seated job.  My leg is quite happy about that, and

when my leg feels good, I do too!

So, this Monday, the pain is subsiding, and the

work week motivates me to get up and get the

energy fired up, the attention on focus, and

the connections - connected!  withCare&Love2!

I send you all good wishes and hope the day

unfolds, beautifully, - always, Dot

Falling Upwards challenges the reader to examine his life experience and re-evaluate his path. This is a superior book about human spiritual growth and approach to contentment. How do I grow? What is my road to serenity - to happiness? How can I best adjust to my problems? Why do I sometimes feel conflicted when I am not secure? When I lose? When I make a mistake?

Jung advice - continue to aspire / as the child artist*
3 years ago

...  she writes, “Maybe being older generates a desire to go inward, be less social.” Carl Jung's seven tasks of aging, which come to many elders quite naturally (without even knowing who Jung was), pretty much demand introspection and, therefore, solitude: • Facing the reality of aging and dying • Life review • Defining life realistically • Letting go of the ego • Finding new rooting in the self • Determining the meaning of one's life • Rebirth – dying with life -

Task No. 7: Rebirth – Dying With Life “Jung’s last task of aging, “Rebirth — dying with life," is a familiar theme throughout the religious genre, but he was not thinking religion when he framed that task. Success in prosecuting this task leads to loss fear of life and death alike. Rebirth after dying with life transports a person into the timeless domains of an artist lost in his or her work or a child absorbed in play when living in the time of a delicious moment is all that matters.”

Hello, My Friends,

I've always found the name of the rose especially inspiring.  The rose seems to symbolize the hopes of life to maintain this exquisite blooming life of pure beauty.  The rose is also a word we use to infer victory over a time of turmoil.  ...To have a sense of rising and to observe what is all about us that has also 'rose' up from the ashes of sadness or great pain.  Flow.  Flowers are how the universe conveys the strength of life to give beauty for suffering.  The flowing of natural health, and the blossoming of great joy through trillions of trials and nights of darkness.  What is ahead of us is suggested by the rose.  The future is as the roses that bless our earth.  The fragrance of delicate kindness and the colors of the most perfect rainbow are caught in the petals of a rose.  Take the time to appreciate what the rose extends.  The road ahead has much more that flows in grace and mercy upon all of us.  Be as the flowers, and trust what unfolds in mystery and always in love.
