Hello to Dixie, Clive, and Pete. What's up? I'll tell you a story, Once upon a time there was an old woman who had so many children she knew just what to do! None of the kids looks alike, or anything like her (for that matter). She was the only homosapian of the bunch! The rest of the group was totally varied. She kept a constant supply of nuts, seeds, berries, vegetables, fruits and yes, even meat for the carnivores. She kept them all occupied with games they liked and toys they loved. Comfortable, warm, sort, dry beds. They run to feed, and maybe they'll get brownies today. The End
ok, another one, a poem this time.

I Care

I don't do racism
I don't do animal cruelty
I don't do religion
I don't do war
I don't do politics

But I do care

Why Not Be

Why die, if we're here to own?

Why have legs if this row is presown?

Why be young just to grow old ?

Why have arms if not to hold?

Why a mind if not to learn?

Why a heart if not to yearn?

Why have ears if not to share?

Why go, if not go elsewhere?

Why have eyes if not to see?

Why have life if not to be?

'Autumn Leaves'

Like Autumn's scattered leaves,
so too your thoughts.
First here, then there,
always moving.

Like watching the leaves
blown here and there by the wind,
watch your thoughts
as though they were Autumn's leaves.

Let them go where they will
without trying to change them
or hold onto them.

Let them go.

They are only thoughts.

They are not you.

'Spring Approaches'

Sparrows chatter excitedly
in the cedar bushes
and the trees
under a cloudless sky.

The sun, a bit further north each day --

Can Spring be far away?

-- dk

'The Beach'

Seagulls glide
between blue water
and pale blue sky.

Cold, light breeze
from the east.

Coney Island --
colorful, abstract,
abandoned industrial park.

'Journey'

This life is a small part of a journey that started so long ago.
Before we existed, before time began, before before existed.

This journey will continue, long after we all are past.
Long after this planet, long after this sun, long after,
long after, long after is gone.

It's a story with no beginning, it's a story with no end.
Unlike any story you've ever heard,
this is a story that exists without words.

So don't let this part of the journey
keep you sad or depressed,
Remember it's only the blink of an eye,
and you might miss it all if you keep thinking why.

Why did this or that happen,
Why did I, she or he do whatever it was,
Why have regrets, learn from what's past,
and remember the journey continues and lasts.
Remember the journey continues and lasts.

'Tiny Sandpipers'

Reaching the shore,
the waves collapse, worn out
after a long, long voyage.

The tiny sandpipers,
running madly, quickly,
little legs ablur,
chase the leading edge
of each breaking wave
as it delivers breakfast,
lunch and dinner.

-- dk

'The Wind'

The wind slips
over seagulls,
sand and sea.

And me.

--dk

'Seagulls'

Seagulls sleeping seaside
face the wind,
in case they need
a quick departure.

--dk

'Play'

We play at life,
we play at love,
we play until
the fun is gone.
