Hi, Lily & all

Thank you Lily for being so ever present in this group.

I know ... it has been a little slow ... I do not have as much time on the computer as I used to ...

If anyone else would like to join our hosting team and maybe assist with reviving this group we would be much delighted. It is an awsome group, and I am sure may have many interesting stories, pictures, videos that may want to share.

Please let me know on this thread or maybe with a short e-mail note.

Have a wonderful day/ weekend.

nice lot of critters you got visiting you Lynn

Seems everyone has gone AWOL in this group.
Only 2 postings in this thread in 3 years!!!

NO pics or videos or comments in the other threads only mine!!

So I shall be leaving this group soon as it is a waste of my time.

Hello Everyone

Thank you Cindy N. for inviting me to the group.  I see there are two more in the group who are on my friend list:  Beth O. and Co-host, Teresa N.

This looks like a lovely opportunity to share about the beauty of outdoor wildlife with friends, and learn more, as always.

In my backyard, I have squirrels butterflies quail and hummingbirds and many other kinds of birds that come and go in our birdbaths and feeders.  There are rabbits in our neighborhood, but I don't know how to entice them to come hang out in my backyard.  I love rabbits.     We also have racoons and skunks in our neighborhood.

Over the years, we had many dogs and cats for our children, but now we have no pets, just our backyard wildlife, a new learning experience.

to the hosts for providing this special place for us.

Greetings everyone !  I think I made a booboo . . . I sort of introduced myself on the "wildlife photos" page, posting a couple of pics and then found this page today.  My name is Cindy and I am new to this site.  I love wildlife and love sharing my experiences with others who value the same.  This site seems perfect for that.  Love all the photos you guys have posted --- I'm trying to figure out how to post my photos which seems to be a bit tricky.

  Have a great week ahead.

Cindy N.

A greeting and apology...

Hello all! I meant to post my welcome here, but I messed-up (sorry!) I inadvertantly posted here. If any of the hosts can edit these, the help would be appreciated.

Copy of post:

A new member here (to both group and Care2)... from the (currently very wet) Mendocino Coast. I live on 3.25acres that back-up to Hare Creek canyon and Jackson State Forest, so we've had all manor of creatures visit us, including a rather large herd of deer, a very rare ring-tail cat, a bobcat, racoons, skunks, grey squirrels, chipmunks, and many types of birds: woodpecker, owl, hawk, ravens, bluejays, chickadees, and more. I will go to the photo threads and post lots of pic's, but until then, feel free to check out a small gallery of fauna I have.

Peace!

Sawasdeeka [ it means hello in Thai ]!

I was browsing through the animal groups today and I found this group. It looks nice to me and I just love looking at pics of wildlife. I think they are cute, hehe. So yeah, I decided to join here.

Well,I'm a [ very ] newbie here and here is a bit more about me!

I am from Thailand , ya,  so far away from all of you guys here I think, hehe, but I wish I could share some pics of my backyard visitors here later so you could see some wildlife visitor pics from Thailand . Right now I don't have any good pics of them with me since I still don't have time to go back to my hometown yet. I'll probably take some pics of them when I visit my family next time, hehe.

My house backyard we have some visitors like toads, frogs, butterflies, squarrels, birds, and ya, even some snakes in a long while, hehe. They are quite nice visitors and sometimes my family feed them. They usually find some food on their own on the ground or our small orchard or up on our mango trees.

Okie~ I think I'll stop here and yeah, I 'm going to look around this group and when I have some pics I will post them here

Nice to meet you all and have a nice day~!!

Hi my name is Lynette E. I am new here and LOVE nature in all aspects! I live in Laurel Run, Pa.  I live in the woods and you might think you were in a campground if you were to visit me! I love it here. It's so quiet and there are so many animals! LIKE: bear, deer, turkey, grouse, I think I saw a pheasant the other day, coyotes, and your basic squirrels, chipmunks, and birds of the eastern Pennsylvania area. I also have (pets)2 dogs, 1 cat, 4 snakes, 1 iguana, and a chicken. I hope to make many friends that share in my love for animals and nature. This sounds like a great group!

I'm mary g and i am looking for a location that will appreciate what is in my backyard.  I live in a place sitting on a lake in the heart of the city.  It is surrounded by trees.  And I share this pastoral scene with hundreds of geese pure, cross breeds, ducks and crossbreeds, barnswallows , heron, snapping turtles, and snakes.  And of course a lot of fish.  I look forward to sharing my photos with you all.

I want to join this group as we have a "backyard" that is a space for lot of wildlife. We run a retreat in the region near the Pyrenees Mountains . www.caillaou.com - as a matter of fact , we are inmidst of an agriculture region  (not biological one) and a lot of animals come here to take refuge... we have pairs of wild doves, deers  pass by regulary and of course snakes and more who we do not meet but only find signs of.

I hope to get more input on how to deal with it best,

hello to everyone here, Dagmar

hello to everyone here.

I like, Donald below, was browsing through the groups here at care2 and discovered this wonderful group.  Exactly what I was seeking.

I love encouraging the local wildlife to visit my backyard. I live in the middle of the city of Perth (3km walk to the middle of the main business area) but only 200m from a 600 acre park - Kings Park that overlooks the city.  Very very lucky.

Hell-o to all,

So glad to find this group. We have bluejays, yellow finch, house sparrow, chickadee, robins, chipmunks, squirrels, sometimes we have the black bear visit, also deer (white tail) and moose on occasion. Lynx are present too, along with Mr. Skunk, racoons, beavers in the creek behind, so....

I am in northern part of Canada, we have lots of snow in the winter, and right now, its gorgeous! May we had lots of rain. Behind us we have a conservation area, so no bikes or motorized vehicles allowed, also no neighbours...lol

Looking forward to meeting all.

Hi, I'm glad to have found this group. I'm originally on Care2 trying to change the Copyright Law. (See My Profile.)

I have Raccoons that stay in the Spruce tree right outside of my kitchen window some years. There are otter, foxes, and all sorts of other Wildlife surrounding the area by my home because of a Lake and a stream that are less than a block away from my house.

I love Wildlife, especially in my own back yard. Nice to be here. Have a great day.

It's great to have you here!!!  Your backyard sounds wonderful!!!  I have a mini-farm on the inside of the house!   I have 9 cats, 8 guinea pigs, 2 degus, and a Welsh Corgi dog.  On the outside, I have so much wildlife that visit the backyard!  We have a resident groundhog which I named "Chuck", several raccoons, skunks, and deer that visit the yard each night, plus two beautiful red foxes that stop by daily.

Hi All!  Thanks to Black Cat for the heads up on this group.  I too live on a "mini" farm.  I look out my back window and see my goats, llamas, horses, chickens and a giant mule.  I've also got some not so tame red foxes that cross the back field and some coyotes that pass by on a regular basis.  One morniing, just before sun up, two deer went prancing down the road.  I heard them before seeing them.  God has blessed me with some of his most beautiful wonders of nature.  I'm sure he knows they are safe with me and that all I will do is stash them into my memory to share with others at times like these.

Thanks for letting me share what makes me happy.

Blackcat ... and yes, please pop in any time you want. Great backyard you have. Must be nice to sip your morning coffee or tea watching the wildlife roaming hapilly around.

Really glad you joined our group.

Hello all I hope it ok to pop in. Looks  like a nice  group. This is Blackcat. We live on a Mini farm and have wild  animals wondering by. We put out food at night and have raccoons and opossums come to the porch to eat.On some afernoon you see ground hogs or deers in the field. Some squirrels come to the birds feeders the birds don't mined sharing.

Hi Kat,

IT'S been a while, but now that its warmer,a squirrel comes by the fences occasionally, and a few of those smaller humming birds too.(I think they're hummingbirds!?)they fly over the orange cana lilys.  How do you get your yards certified? Our have the pinkish/red and white striped climbing roses, some jasmine vines, small grape vine(no grapes yet,and they were very small last year!!)1maple tree, some other asiatic lilies, and some daliahs starting to grow.  Our chow-chow goes outside too,but which plants should I grow more to attract more creatures?

Jenny!!!

It's great to have you here!!!  I share my land with any creature that happens to wander in as well!  I have tons of skunks and raccoons that visit (they love the seed that drops from the birdfeeders, plus I do put food out for any critter that wants it on the corner of my land away from the house), and it's fun to watch the deer eating from my birdfeeders too!  I use to take long hikes like you in the woods, but I don't get to as much anymore because I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia last April.  But I have the yard set up as a wildlife habitat, and I'm hoping to get it certified this year!

Yay!

I've been searching for a group just like this!  I'm so glad to have found you!

I'm a lifetime nature nut and am never happier then when I'm out of doors, hiking, canoeing, investigating the woods and it's inhabitants, learning about the local wildlife, plants, even rocks.

My family thinks I'm a tad er...quirky?...since I welcome all nature into my yard.  Be ye skunk, squirrel, bird, bunny, or raccoon...you're welcome to share the land with me.

I've recently suffered an illness which leaves me stuck at home for long periods and I so miss the woods and my daily hikes to visit the wildlife.  Now, it's even more important for me to encourage wildlife into my yard and provide them what they need in order to survive and thrive.  They are my connection to nature and the Earth that I so need now.

I look forward to getting involved!

Peace & Light

Hi fellow bird lovers.

I stumbled across this group purely by accident whilst browsing for other information.

I live in the countryside.  I love garden birds, and feed them several times every day.

Please dont be deterred by the fact that I host the one & only BiRd Flu group on Care2, whilst I believe that it is indeed essential to educate ourselves in that particular `medical` subject.   It does NOT however change the love I hold for all birds which I see as being yet another beautiful area of Creator`s Creation.

Please feel free to browse the bird photos in my Care2 album.

Blessings.

In our back-yard, we have squirrels, bunnies, feral kitties,  & deer.  The deer are pretty common as we live on the military base & they are safe here as no-one can go hunting in the housing area.  I have to be really careful when I'm driving home from work at night, as they are all over.

Take Care, Kat!

Hi I'm Nic and I live on the waters edge in Bermuda, so backyard animals for me are various lizards, tree frogs and toads, birds such as bluebirds, cardinals, egrets, herons, kingfishers and for the last few days I've been enjoying watching Ospreys hunting we also get sea creatures such as skate, turtles, loads of fish and I have a family of 8 ducks that visit me each day to get fed. Bermuda is also on the migratory route for humpback whales (not quite my back yard but hey, Bermuda is really small!!).

Hopefully I'll post some piccies soon.

Kat, thank you for sending me this way, what a lovely group I right now live in a busy town but luckily do have a back garden and not far from me is a big forest which I try to visit as much as I can.

I am hoping providing everything goes ok, to move in December to a village where for sure there is going to be loads of wildlife to watch for the house I hope to move to is in between woods. I'm sure I will not see for my pet cat Dingle for days for I imagine he will be on the scent of moving things!

It appears that I have neglected to say Hi to everyone.

I grew up in the country so my backyard (and the fields / woods beyond) were always a fascinating place for me to spend time (except duriing hunting season, when it became dangerous to be "out in the woods").
