Autographs May 04, 2008 6:55 AM

I have an autographed photo of Eddie Rabbit.

I also have autographes for Bryan White and Brad Hawkins.  These I believe are on CD or Tape covers.

When I went to Branson, I also got some autographs from the "Grand Old Ladies" show.  I cannot rmember the names of the ladies that were there that day.  I am also unsure what I did with their autographs at this time...I wonder if I still have them.

When Ty Herndon played at Country Thunder in Twin Lakes WI, I got a picture with him and I think I got an autograph...I cannot remember I was too excited.  He is my fav Country singer.

Well I have Keith Sewell's autograph.  He is writes now more than performs.  His grandfather was Kenny Sewell of the Shady Grove Ramblers, so he comes from a Blue Grass Background.  He has performed with Marty Stuart, Ricky Skaggs, Dixie Chicks.   He wrote "Tell Me Again" for Alison Krauss.  He has written for Montgomery Gentry,  Steve Wariner and lots of other people.

I have followed his career for years as we went to JrHigh and High School together.  So the autographs I have of him are from back before he really became famous but we all knew he was going to.  He used to play regularly here in the Dallas area at the Grapevine Opry.  So he was famous within our Region of the area when I got them.

yeah I have a lot of autographs but I was with these people everyday of my life for 12-14 hours a day working for Opryland. I worked the CMA awards every year for TNN. I also have tons of pictures I'll try to get some of them out and scan them this week and show you some.

I also have a lot of stuff that belonged the country music singers.Like I have 2 of Roy Acuff's checked shirts he wore at the Opry, his watch, and a few odd and end things he gave me. Also have several things from Hank Williams Jr, Jennie C , Lacy J, Buck Owens, Dolly Parton, Porter ,George Jones,  Oak Ridge Boys, Alabama just to name a few.

I guess I worked with them all so long it became no big deal to me..they are just people most of them every nice people (mind you I say most)

Well, most of my autographs I recieved when I was just a kid, under the age of, that's how many years ago now? LOL

My first autographs were Ernest Tubb's and Loretta Lynn's.....I come from a small town in Iowa and we have what is called the Old Threshers Reunion.....there they have country music stars come and perform every night.....Ernest and Loretta were my first time for autographs and seeing a 'show", or a concert. I also, have June Carter's and Maybell's autographs...and Ray Price's.....just to name a few.....

I need to get to some of the newer folks and get some sigs....

going to see collin raye this sunday. sad thing is I put in for a meet and greet and never heard anything from anybody...guess i didnt get chosen again. I think Im gonna stop joining all these fan clubs. they are expensive when yu join alot of them(20.00 to 30.00 or more per year per group/artist) and there is no guarantee that you will get to meet any body and thats really the only reason i joined. you really dont get anything for your money other than access to posting boards ect.  [ send green star]

My aunt Jill was the president of the Clint Black Fan Club in WV, back in the early 90's. He came to a meeting and I got his autograph.

I got Travis Tritt's autograph at the Indy 500 a few years ago.

Im going to see george straight and tracy lawrence on 1/28/06 at DCU Center in worcester, Mass. I put in for a meet and greet with tracy lawrence after joining his fan club. I really like his songs so I was willing to pay 25.00 more to join the fan club.(in addition to the 162.00 for tickets to see him)  Problem is they dont guarantee you will get chosen to see him as they only allow 10 folks per venue to see him and some venues dont offer meet and greets...soooooooooooo wish
me luck!..of course if I get to see him Ill get him to autograph a cd jacket........12/28/05  [ send green star]

It may just be me , but I have no desire ore need for anyones autograph. Haveing workes in a industry in my youth where autograph seekers were a normal part of life. it can sometime be quite trying after just haveing preformed. My hats off to fan fair and anything else designed to bring fan and performer together in a situation where they all know what to expect  [ send green star]  [ accepted]

My opoinon on alot of the country stars now days are not great i love there music and all but they think there so much better than you but don't sit back and realize that if it were not for all the people out there they would not have a job ..They need to learn to respect there fans and not acted like they don't have time for them when they travel miles to see them and pay the money that we do .. A close friend of mine took my twin sister who happens to be in a wheelchair with cyerablepalsy and will never walk again well they went to see neil mcCoy one year and they had the line to go up and meet him but he skipped out on his fans and was more worried about playing golf that day ..I use to love neils songs but to treat the people who pay money to make you a star you just don't treat them like that and on top of that treat my sister like that ..He lost all my respect ...I know alot of people who saw older country singers and never had that problem at all The older country music singers knew where they came from and how they had it and knew they where not any better than anyone else ..not all of them but alot of them !!!!! Sorry for rambling but just stating my opoinon .....  [ send green star]  [ accepted]
anonymous I did get an autograph October 15, 2005 1:52 PM

My parents back in Virginia were members of this train association. You know the old steam trains. Well once a year there was a train excursion that was an all day trip. You made small stops and then the very last stop was a town that held an annual picnic. Well always there was a celebrity of some type on the train that only the rich folks could dine with. Well one particular year it happened to be Roy Clark from the show Hee Haw. I was able to get his autograph and picture taken with him. The heat was outrageous and this man was melting, but his attitude never changed. He was really a nice guy. Then later, he sat down and sang for everyone. This was in the early 80's. I don't know what I did with the autograph or picture. I guess I lost it somehow.  [report anonymous abuse]  [ accepted]

Autographs..... October 15, 2005 12:45 PM

Have you ever got an autograph and perhaps a photo taken with a country singer? These are so hard to get as a good share of these artists either dont sign or you have to be a member of their fan club to get one! Even if you are a member of the fan club it doesnt guarantee you an autograph or a meet and greet. some do them at some concerts but not at others.a few yrs back I saw joe diffie in concert but wasnt allowed to get near him because I wasnt a fan club member.I later joined his fan club and then found out he wasnt coming to this area the next yr.....I quit the fan club and the following yr he came back to the area and again I wasnt a fan club member..hahaha ..go figure ..LOL! ............... I took my girlfriend to see kenny rogers and we were standing next to the stage maybe 2 feet from the guy and I asked for an autograph for Jamie. kenny just looked at me and shook his head NO! trust me it would have only taken a minute or less and the show was over ..I wasnt very happy about this. I went and spoke to one of his drivers and he gave both me and my girlfried hand signed photographs that were given to him and his wife from kenny. He said he would get another set of them from him when he got around to it. since they werent personalized it was great and we thanked him so much for his kindness.....Jim  [ send green star]
