About Me Concerned about the world, frustrated by people who get their news and information from their religious, right-wing leaders or from sound bytes on the nightly propaganda news/entertainment stations; angry that many people would rather watch some stupid reality show than face reality and become an active member of society rather than an ignorant observer. I'm a pessimistic optimist with a strong moral compass, getting short on patience b/c of the rising tide of national partisanship and hate that exists in our country. I look forward to the time when, asked to mark the box for our race, there will be only one box to mark: Human Race.

Wild Fact About Me I've never run for health, only because it feels good.
My Philosophy Wake up every day and participate in life; don't just be a spectator. There is something each of us can do every day to make a positive difference on this planet.
What Gives Me Hope Ordinary people who care about their neighbor next door, their neighbors around the world, who make an effort to help their neighbors even when they are also suffering.
If I were Mayor, I'd make the world a better place by If I were President I'd follow the Constitution and separate Church and State. Religion does not belong in our political system. Forcing candidates to state that they are "christian" in order to be suitable for public office is wrong. Religion is a personal matter.
What/who changed my life and why The Seven Storey Mountain by Thomas Merton. He was a man with no faith, no inner life, who gradually came to understand his role in the universe, found his faith and believed that it was possible to love all of humanity in its purest or darkest form. He was guided by knowledge and love.
Quotation "Life is difficult--this is a great truth because once we truly see this truth, we transcend it . . . then life is no longer difficult." M. Scott Peck
