About Me Darkness sweeps across my world,
Stifled by demons of self-destruction,
Pain in my soul leaves me unfurled,
Suicide sweetly whispers seduction.

Sweet escape from a life half-lived,
Sweep across book's expert pages,
Explanations of my life spent captived,
Yet no answers to raze invisible cages.

Desperately, my pen scratches words,
That sing my story where my voice fails
In the fashion of cryptic songbirds
Poetic balm when a flashback assails.

Excruciating moments thusly pass,
Woe to me if words cannot be found,
Anxious antipathy begins to amass,
Sanity strays with failure to expound.

Wild Fact About Me
My Philosophy I wish I believed in reincarnation so I can start again.
Or, I had faith in God for the promise of heaven that lies therein.
I do not, for I take responsibility for the god in me.
All the while, honoring the divine in you that I so plainly see.
What Gives Me Hope People
If I were Mayor, I'd make the world a better place by
What/who changed my life and why 9/11, it jolted me awake about my country and the world.
Quotation To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded.

Ralph Waldo Emerson
American Poet, Essayist

I cannot conceive of a personal God who would directly influence the actions of individuals, or would directly sit in judgment on creatures of his own creation. I cannot do this in spite of the fact that mechanistic causality has, to a certain extent, been placed in doubt by modern science. [He was speaking of Quantum Mechanics and the breaking down of determinism.] My religiosity consists in a humble admiration of the infinitely superior spirit that reveals itself in the little that we, with our weak and transitory understanding, can comprehend of reality. Morality is of the highest importance — but for us, not for God.

–Albert Einstein The Human Side, 1954

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that. Hate multiplies hate, violence multiplies violence, and toughness multiplies toughness in a descending spiral of destruction….The chain reaction of evil — hate begetting hate, wars producing more wars — must be broken, or we shall be plunged into the dark abyss of annihilation.

–Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. (1929-1968)

Life is without meaning. You bring the meaning to it. The meaning of
life is whatever you ascribe it to be. Being alive is the meaning.

Joseph Campbell

The difference between involvement and commitment is like ham and eggs.
The chicken is involved; the pig is committed.

- Martina Navratilova
1956, Tennis Player

No man can wear one face to himself and another to the multitude without finally getting bewildered as to which may be true.

-Nathaniel Hawthorn

Knowing others is intelligence; knowing yourself is wisdom. Mastering others is strength; mastering yourself is true power.

-Lao Tzu

Words ought to be a little wild, for they are the assaults of thoughts on the unthinking.

- John Maynard Keynes

He who joyfully marches in rank and file has already earned my contempt. He has been given a large brain by mistake, since for him the spinal cord would suffice.

- Albert Einstein

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine as children do. It's not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own lights shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

Marianne Williamson

I hate people. People make me pro-nuclear
