About Me I have many roles in life as most of us do! I'm a good, full-time mother (being a mom is the most rewarding, important, & best job I have; My child comes before anyone and anything!), wife who is very thankful for her good husband, a daughter, a sister, an aunt, a niece, a cousin, friend, dog & cat owner, and a neighbor! I'm loyal, faithful, kind hearted, trustworthy, forgiving, generous, an animal lover, an American Pit bull Terrier lover, rescuer & advocate, a fighter against breed specific legislation or BSL, animal cruelty, & dog fighting, against animal or canine profiling, spiritual but not religious, open minded, intelligent but not conceited, was a pre-med & computer science student, upbeat despite a difficult childhood, & very protective of those I love! I hate injustices, any form of abuse, liars, cheaters, dog fighting, fighting, and clowns scare the crap out of me! When it comes to dogs: There are no bad dogs, only bad, irresponsible owners! Blame the Deed, not the Breed!

Wild Fact About Me
My Philosophy
What Gives Me Hope Seeing random acts & kindness, help for the homeless, homeless people & animals alike, help for abused and/or neglected children, and everything that my rescue friends & animal activists do to help save animals! I only wish that society would change its negative attitudes towards the homeless & do more to help, especially since many of us live paycheck to paycheck & could easily become homeless ourselves. Not too long ago, there was a homeless community that existed in Lakewood, NJ called "Tent City" but the city fought to have all of the residents there physically removed. And their temporary shelters, that were made out of 2x4s, plywood, and plastic tarps were subsequently torn down. If a person was caught sleeping in their car, they were immediately ticketed and fined and asked to leave. I found this to be completely reprehensible! These people had nowhere to go due to the financial recession. Do you mean to tell me that our Govt. can spend millions of dollars to bail out the banks but is completely incapable of helping out the homeless citizens in our nation, including our veterans, the disabled, and the elderly? And why can't they build a single homeless shelter in Ocean County, NJ? Instead, they bussed all of the homeless to a charitable homeless shelter in Atlantic City!

Quotation "The Greatness of a Nation and its Moral Progress can be JUDGED by the Way it Treats its Animals" ~Mahatma Gandhi

Falsehood flies and the truth comes limping after, so that when men come to be undeceived, it is too late: the jest is over, and the tale has had its effect. ~Jonathan Swift

"It is true that Pit Bulls grab and hold on. But what they most often grab and refuse to let go of is your heart, not your arm." ~Vicki Hearne

"Breed specific laws are not based in science. [Laws] banning breeds will not make you safer, and the illusion that they will do so is dangerous to humans and unfair to dogs." ~Dr. Karen Overall

Pit bull bans are enormously expensive and ineffective. And if breed discriminatory ordinances are passed, people who love their pets will fight the governments arbitrary identification of their dog, making them even more difficult to enforce. Many people view this as a property rights issueas long as Im a responsible dog owner, I should be allowed to have whatever breed of dog I choose. The key here is being responsible. Reckless or negligent owners should be prevented from owning any breed of dog. ~ Attorney Ledy VanKavage
