About Me I am easygoing, tolerant, and open minded. I tend to wear my heart on my sleeve and have been called by my critics on a number of occasions a bleeding heart, and I am proud of that title. I tell them I rather be a bleeding heart, then a hardhearted cynic. My personality type is INFP http://www.personalitypage.com/INFP.html. I am generally friendly but can be quite passionate and sometimes a bit overzealous in defending my most basic and important beliefs. I am open to listening and considering other people's opinions but opinions that seem hardhearted or especially ignorant I will not generally hesitate to tell my opinion in a frank and straightforward way. Offline I am very much an introvert but online I am more outgoing. Just another example of my INFP personality I guess.

Political Leaning Very Liberal
Wild Fact About Me I am a bit of a radical and a rebel, not afraid to find my own path to travel in life. I have never been one to be afraid to challenge conventional thinking, opinions, and biases. I'm not afraid to stand alone in defense of what I see as right.
My Philosophy I am very progressive/liberal; on left fiscally and a civil libertarian socially. I am radical in some of my views but I am a pragmatist. I am quite socialist in my economic views however am not a big government type of progressive. Ideally I prefer more direct citizen collective action rather than things being heavily centralized in the government. I support stronger gun controls but am a strong opponent of government overreach into people's personal lives, the less the government involved in people's personal lives the better. Big brother is not our friend but an enemy to our life and liberty. Being a progressive I believe the government can be used for good being a civil libertarian I also believe the government can be used for great evil. The key is to have an educated voter base and an enlightened and compassionate group of leaders. Right now we have the worst of both worlds a largely uneducated on the issues voter base and a largely unenlightened and uncompassionate group of leaders. I voted for President Obama in 2008 and 2012 and though I have been disappointed in a number of ways, I still think he is the best hope the left has got currently with Hilary Clinton being the best hope in 2016. FYI I voted for Hilary Clinton in the 2008 Primary.

Human rights has become my new found passion in life and I have decided to devote my life to it. The situation in Syria has a special place in my heart. I believe human rights belong to every human; man, woman, or child, rich or poor, no matter the race, ethnicity, national origin, background, sexual orientation, religion or lack of one, even to those on the lowest rungs of society such as terrorist and criminals. When we as humanity begin to make exceptions to who is deserving to be treated humanely and who is not, bad things happen. I realize we do not live in a perfect world and in such cases as self defense of life or war taking of life of armed combatants is sometimes necessary though I still see it as an evil, only a necessary one in order that others may live. I wish someday for an end to all wars but as long as we have tyrants in the world who kill and hurt innocents war will always be with us. I see the fact here we are in the 21st century and still hurting and killing each other as a very strong rebuke of humanity. I see this as being reversible if we are willing to do what it takes to make a collective effort to stand up for the human rights of all people.
What Gives Me Hope Seeing the humanity expressed between people. The younger generation's compassion and concern for their peers and fellow humanity. The older generations leaving behind long ago prejudices, fears, and hate.
If I were Mayor, I'd make the world a better place by Speak out against cruelty and ignorance. Encourage people to be the change they want to see in the world. Encourage the citizens of the nation and world to love one another rather than hate. Speak for all people in the world the right to human freedom, human rights, and human dignity.
What/who changed my life and why My friend Bobby, because he encouraged me to get involved in fighting for human rights. Which helped me find direction in what I wanted to do in life. Which is to make my life's work, fighting for human rights.
