Activist Spotlight: Construction To Destroy Wetland in Japan

Help Protect Kitagawa Wetland in Japan

A new construction plan is already destroying some of the natural beauty of the Kitagawa wetland in Japan. The plan seeks to fill the wetland with soil, severely impacting the lives of many animals currently living there, including some listed as endangered.

Opponents of the plan are proposing a new idea in an attempt to prevent further damage. They’re suggesting a small nature trail be made, which would entice visitors to walk along and enjoy the site, all the while preserving much of the wetland.

Local activists are taking part in a “Kitagawa candle walk” event scheduled for Saturday. People will walk near the Kitagawa at night, holding candles as they pray for the protection of the nature that surrounds them.

If you happen to be in the area, show support by attending the candle walk.

And people near and far can take action by signing this petition to protect the Kitagawa Wetland before it is destroyed!

What has turned the Japanese into such horrid, disgusting, sadistic monsters??? They do not seem to care about anything save the yen they can stuff in their pockets. What a sad bunch of losers!

Leonie T. just because one group does something does not mean you can apply that attitude to the whole country. Good to hear about the protest for their lands.
