Alabamans Have Had Enough Of The War On Women

They are mad as hell and they are not going to take it any more. Meet the good citizens of Alabama.

Since the November elections, Republicans in the state legislature have introduced no less than 16 bills aimed at restricting women’s access to reproductive health care and basic human rights. The bills run the gamut from personhood to dictating the types of procedures that count as “abortions.”

And Alabamans have noticed.

In Hunstville, more than 150 people rallied against these invasions and demanded their legislators stop the assault on women’s rights in their state.  “If you don’t stop this kind of intrusion into people’s personal lives today, it’s going to flow into other areas and keep restricting freedom,” Carl Cowart said.

The attacks have been so persistent they’ve even brought out Republicans to oppose the slew of bills. These issues cross party lines, according to Milly Breeden, of Republican Women for Choice. “This will not be a choice that a man has to make,” she said. “I want them to hear us down in Montgomery: No means no!”

Ready to join the fight back? Contact legislators in Alabama and let them know enough is enough. Contact them twice. In fact, don’t stop until each of these assaults on the basic dignity of women comes to an end.

You'd think and hope that every sane and sensible person in the United States would have more than enough of all this nonsense and stand up and put a stop to it.

The regressive Republican Party of No is obstructionist, mean-spirited, thuggish, religiously fanatical, scientifically ignorant, corrupt, hypocritical, xenophobic, racist, sexist, homophobic, evolution and global warming denying, oily, anti-environment, anti-health, anti-consumer, anti-choice, anti-birth control, anti-education, anti-99%, union busting, Medicare and Social Security slashing, fiscally irresponsible, authoritarian, selfish, greedy, out-of-touch, lacking compassion, warmongering, and otherwise dangerous.

NEVER vote for Republicans.

I was at this rally, and there were well over 200 people there. May not sound like much (it IS a 33% increase over the number reported here). But this was a) In HUNTSVILLE, b) a pretty Sunday afternoon, and c) pulled together in less than 2 weeks!!! A lot of other people stopped to see what was going on, and it did serve it's purpose - to help get the word out! EVERY bit of publicity we can generate helps inform the masses about this war!

As to those who state they are anti-abortion/anti-choice - these laws are NOT going to do anything to reduce the number of abortions! All they will do is insert the GOVERNMENT between a woman and her doctor! I don't know about you, but I don't want the GOVERNMENT practicing medicine!

Nobody likes the bully boys prodding them with a stick. I`d call their reaction righteous, but they need more support.
