Another Abortion Ban Bites The Dust

Another anti-woman anti-choice bill fails as Georgia Republicans in the House have decided to kill a full 20 week abortion ban rather than pass the Senate version which provides for exceptions for “medically futile” pregnancies.

If that doesn’t speak to the cruelty motivating these bills, I don’t know what does.

HB 954 would have shortened the time in which a woman could seek an abortion to 20 weeks. As originally introduced the bill would have forced women to carry-to-term fetuses that had already died in utero or would not survive outside the womb since most those conditions develop and present past the 20 week mark.

The Georgia Senate thought this seemed a little cruel and passed a version of the bill that would allow women in those situations to get an abortion beyond 20 weeks. This ultimately became a showdown between Republicans as the House Republicans wouldn’t accept a ban with exceptions and Senate Republicans wouldn’t back off the amendments.

Given the passions fueling this bill I think we can expect to see another version next legislative session. But for now the bill is dead and women in Georgia won’t be forced to carry non-viable pregnancies to term against their will.

Does that count when the fetus is already dead you mean-spirited, cruel ass. So you’re for forcing a woman to carry a dead fetus in her womb for 9 months? I have an idea. how about we tie a dead chicken around your neck and it will stay there for the next 9 months.

Women might agree to no abortions (except in cases where the fetus is dead or so severly impaired it won't survive or the pregnancy will result in the woman's death) when men agree to only have sex if their wife wants to get pregnant and that is the only time it is permitted. Men having sex outside of marriage would immediately be castrated. That is only fair since, according to these idiots-getting pregnant is the only reason for women to be allowed to have sex. If they want it for pleasure they are whores-would Rush Limpballs lie? Sounds fair to me.

John M until you have a uterus and the ability to have a parasite, yes a fetus is a parasite since it feeds off the nutrients in the woman's body and continues its parasite-like activity for the next 18 years (at minium), you have no say in the matter. stfu and leave this to the women who actually have a better idea of what it means to be left holding the bag

This is just further proof that the current members of the Rep. Party, especially the Teabaggers, are UNWILLING to compromise on anything. Even with the members of their own party. This kind of "My Way or The Highway" thinking has finially come around to bite them on the ass. Now, they have thrown away the chance to get THEIR way on this anti-abortion bill. Well Done Georgia GOP!

And, --John M. --. So Do Rat Traps. DOUBLE PERIOD. And before you come back with "Rats are not Human Beings!", let me say, "Neither is a Fetus". Period.
