Idaho Ultrasound Bill Almost Dead

After an emergency caucus meeting by Republicans in Idaho cancelled the hearing on the controversial “double ultrasound” bill. Unless Republicans hold a hearing by Friday the measure will not be brought up for a floor vote.

That means this awful, horrible, no good, very bad bill is almost dead.

We have to keep the pressure on legislators to kill this bill. Legislators are starting to view the bill as toxic, a significant change considering it passed out of the Senate committee with only two “no” votes and passed the entire Senate one vote shy of a veto-proof majority.

So let’s keep up the pressure. If this bill dies, and we can make that happen, it would be a significant victory for women everywhere. Idaho is a conservative state with plenty of drive to regulate women’s rights. If we can win here we can win anywhere.

And to those who have already been working this bill, thank you so very much. Now lets close this deal.

Steve you really think that a married woman with a sick or dead fetus stuck inside her needs her conscience pricked? You are a sick person and have no business telling anyone else whether they can have sex or not. You don't like sex? Fine then don't have it. I'm glad that you have finally stopped pretending you care about *life* and just say you don't want people to enjoy sex. Grim and sour, typical RWNJ.

Oh goody! If the bill dies, Idaho women will be able to continue getting abortions without pricking their consciences!

Perhaps we can go for a new record in the next 40 years - maybe 100 million abortions!

Whatever we do - let's NOT try to reduce the need for them, okay? Let's just continue bonking irresponsibly, knowing we always have abortions to fall back on!

The logic MUST be here somewhere - I just have to find it!

This country is becoming like one giant "Whack-a-Mole" game for progressives. One piece of outrageous Republican legislation pops up over here needing to be whacked down, but then another one pops up over there. There's no end to it.
