Devin Nunes Secretly Taped Being Honest About GOP Plans – What He Says Should Scare You

Our legislators are supposed to represent the American people, but in order to know what a congressman is really thinking, sometimes you need to eavesdrop on a conversation between him and his wealthy donors. Case in point, Devin Nunes was recently extremely honest at a private GOP fundraiser, and the public is only learning what he said because someone secretly recorded and released his speech to The Rachel Maddow Show.

For starters, Nunes emphasized that it’s critical to keep a Republican majority in the House of Representatives. He didn’t say that was the case because the GOP’s agenda was better, but because he considers lawmakers like himself the last line of defense in protecting President Donald Trump from impeachment. If Democrats flip enough seats, he predicts it’s game over for Trump.

Although it’s the first time we’ve heard Nunes admit as much aloud, anyone who has tracked his antics over the past year can tell Nunes has made it his personal mission to protect the president in his role as the leader of the House Intelligence Committee.

A big reason why he feels obligated to obstruct the investigation is because Nunes knows Trump is guilty. No, he doesn’t come right out and say “Trump is guilty,” but he offers up a “hypothetical” where he describes a campaign that colludes with a foreign power that has stolen emails and colludes to release them to change the outcome of the election.

Of that, again, “fictional” scenario, Nunes plainly says, “That’s criminal.” Good to have him on the record on that – even if he didn’t intend it to be on the record – so that we know his future attempts to thwart justice are based on blind partisanship and not an earnest belief that the president is innocent.

At another point, someone in the audience asked Nunes why House Republicans didn’t push harder to impeach Rod Rosenstein, since his removal could line up someone else to end Robert Mueller’s investigation.

Nunes, quite candidly admits, “It’s not a matter that any of us like Rosenstein… it’s a matter of timing.” Nunes worries that getting the ball rolling on a Rosenstein impeachment in the present would preoccupy the Senate and prevent them from tackling the most important task in front of them: confirming Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court.

After all, what’s the point of (allegedly) stealing an election and (definitely) stealing an extra Supreme Court seat if you’re not going to take full advantage of packing the court to change American politics for decades to come? Heck, putting Kavanaugh on the court could very well be the thing that spares Trump in the long term since any charges against the president would seem destined to go to the Supreme Court, and Kavanaugh has stated unambiguously that a president should be immune from such investigations and prosecutions.

So it’s not that Rosenstein is off the hook indefinitely, it’s just for as long as it’s politically strategic to keep focused on other objectives.

If you believe Trump and his campaign staff may be guilty of the crimes suspected of him – which Nunes apparently does! – let the congressman’s secret thoughts be an imperative to us to not vote for Republican candidates in the upcoming election. The GOP is going to continue to downplay and make excuses for any wrongdoing Trump has done, making them enemies of a fair and independent democracy.

So far as Kavanaugh is concerned, you can't honestly say that Dems wouldn't be pushing their radical ideologues into the court like Kagan and Sotomayor were with little or no Republican obstruction. Kavanaugh is for real, a constitutionalist which is exactly who you should put on the court.
And he is also right about the impeachment. DFem control of the House and Senate would make that a reality regardless of what they are saying now while campaigning. Enough of the left have expressed that desire, "just not now" they say so as not to alienate any potential voters. But the threat is obvious.
Once again, Kevin throws out his speculations and obvious biased opinions into an article where reality becomes obscured into some continued narrative of how much he hates Trump and conservatives in general... half the population. But then, this site is full of many who believe just as he does... confused and misled, so he feels quite safe in his rants and that most will simply agree..

Thank you Paul, there are millions of Fake News victims that are totally clueless of what you just said.
They hate President Trump because Fake News repeats their lies all day every day and censors accomplishments, and as always, the other side of the story.

Poor Carter Page, the innocent fool, was the basis for the warrant and this investigation but, again, is still not being charged with anything. He had been cooperating with FBI all along, but could offer nothing to implicate Trump. None of them have because there is nothing to find. Some day, this will all come to light and hopefully you WILL realize that the media and Dem party have been lying to you. How pissed will you be? Or not, since most anti-Trumpers have bought into the lies and believe he is the devil incarnate even though he is doing exactly what he was elected to do, and more. If Congress would cooperate, with things like Judicial reform to ease the plight of minorities in the system it would be even better, but the bitter hatred of the left will likely preclude them from cooperating with him even though it is right in line with their party stance. Smart immigration control that IMO has been totally skewed by the media and Dem leaders. Basically you have been misled for two years regarding Trump and what he is doing. I hope you realize that someday soon and be as pissed as you should be. Almost all of this, except where noted, is proven verifiable fact. How you interpret it, and what you do with it, is up to you. But I wouldn't be so easily skewed by the left media that has done nothing but try to take Trump down. Remember that if a judge only allowed the prosecution to present its case, the defense will likely never win. Understand

Still on this stupid "Trump is guilty" trip? Get over it.
It is steady coming to light that it was all a set-up by FBI agents and James Clapper. Comey, Page, McCabe, Strzok, Ohr, Yates and likely more have either been fired or forced to resign or demoted but on his way out. Mueller's appointment was illegal because it wasn't approved by Senate. His scope was so broad because IMO they were desperate to be able to go back 10 years and pull a case out of the trash to try and pressure Manafort to "compose" against Trump. Abused Flynn, ran him out of money for supposedly lying to FBI after it had already been deemed he didn't lie.
Rosenstein, McCabe, Strzok and Ohr and maybe Yates all signed the faux FISA warrant where they lied and mislead the judge based mostly on a fake dossier that was paid for by CLinton, DNC and FBI using Ohr and his wife (Fusion GPS employee) to feed Strzok with what he needed to start this whole process... all fabricated and/or unverified, by anyone at any time.. Truly FAKE Intel. FACT.
Strzok was lead investigator, wrote the original indictment, massaged the Clinton statement by Comey so they could avoid having to prosecute her. FACT

FACT The whole thing, IMO, comprises THE BIGGEST scandal in DOJ history, but the left is totally silent and failing to do their job, trying their hardest to cover up all the scandals that would implicate Obama and his administration with some major crimes. Instead of curiosity and journalistic investigation of the REAL crimes, they have spend years trying to fabricate a story of Trump Russia collusion where none exists. You really have to look at the whole big picture to see it clearly, and outside the left media bubble where most of this is ignored, covered up or obfuscated as meaningless. All the 'indictments" from Mueller have nothing to do with Trump, at all. The whole thing started with George Papadapoulous who was fed bogus information, then threatened by FBI, who had no credible evidence against him got him to plead guilty to "lying." But they never charged him with any crime, just like Flynn. They didn't do anything worthy of prosecution, but the FBI found one little thing they "said," not actually did, to twist them into composing against Trump. Having nothing that has failed every time and why we haven't seen any evidence to indicate any bit of collusion. Poor Carter Page, the innocent fool, was the basis for the warrant and this investigation but, again, is still not being charged with anything. Julie D, What kind of fascist and tyrant gives you back more of your money gives you back more of your health care, shrinks the government bureaucracy, gets government red tape out of your way.
Isn't the whole purpose of tyranny, fascism and a broken presidency, to empower the tyrant not disempowerment?
If anyone broke the presidency, it was Obama.

Oh, I do owe all three of you my thanks. It motivated me to go and talk to my friend, and I am now in the process of becoming a candidate in the local elections. Hopefully, I will be her running mate.

Susanne R,

I was referring to Alex Jones, but ho-hum.

I don't despise any of you, I was trying to hold up a mirror to you. I try to avoid posting nasty comments but will do so if I feel it is justified.

I don't have any children and am very unlikely to do so. However, I do care about people, and I want the world to be a better place.

As for President Trump and my Taoist philosophies, now that would take up more space than several comment sections would allow. It might surprise you, but I have been acting in the posts according to Taoism.

Have a nice afternoon or evening.
