Fido Finds Fame with Football (Video)

Fans at a football game between Colombia (Santa Fe) and Brazil (Botafogo) were amused on Tuesday, October 25 when a dog sprinted on the field and tried to help out. The delay took more than three minutes as teams tried to lead the pooch off the field.

In the end, this determined dog did it his way and then took a break in the stands. It made such a hit that an online game was created in its honor.

Could this pooch have been a stray?

No harm was done to the canine or the crowd and for once, the players were upstaged! Do I hear Hollywood calling?

Oh, and by the way, Santa Fe won the game with a score of 4 1.

I still can't understand why they couldn't continue the game with the dog :)

The fans were amused, because that dog made some excellent moves, ones that football players only wish they could do when trying to escape their opponents' defense.

Lori and Tracey, exactly my thoughts and wishes too. If he didn't have a home at the time perhaps he has one now thanks to his new found celebrity status..................

I hope the dog is ok after this and not in some pound to be PTS.

from the way the pup was acting/reacting it looked to me like he just really wanted to play with somebody! from his point of view all the attempts to catch him and get him off the field all looked like they were just part of the game! what a cutie ^_^

Great dog. Thanks!

Why didn't someone think of using the ball and a few players to get him off the field to a safe place? I'm sure he saw them kicking the ball, and just wanted to play, too! Thankfully, no one used a tranquilizer pellet gun! He wasn't hurting anyone, and he's obviously good natured. I hope he either has a home, or gets a good one where people have a large yard with a ball for him to amuse everyone.
