Morning Mix: Resolved — bin Laden Was A Bad Man and Other News

In case you doubted that everyone agrees Osama bin Laden was a bad man, now it will be resolved.  Literally.  The  senate intends to vote on a bin Laden resolution today, according to Politico.

Nevada Senator John Ensign gave his last speech to the Senate yesterday, but no one was around to hear it.  In one last insult to the disgraced politician, Ensign was forced to give his farewell to a bunch of empty seats.  Nevada Representative Brad Heller will finish out Ensign’s term, and a raucous special election will be held to replace Heller on Sept. 13th

Here’s hoping Sharron Angle sings.

But killing bin Laden appears to change little in the political landscape, especially not the Tea Party’s opinion of the President.  A court in California will be letting birthers argue a case about Barack Obama’s birth certificate today, with claims that the certificate was doctored. And conservatives are already trying to move the election narrative on to the economy.

One politician tells the public we need to end oil subsidies after voting to continue oil subsidies, another complains about disaster relief money after having his state accept disaster relief money,  and Donald Trump believes that sexual orientation is a matter best left to…the golf courses.

That’s it for today’s Morning Mix!

Interesting that when it comes to the wars and the economy ReThugLyingtwofacedsackofsh*tKochRoachicans immediately declared "it's Obama's war now", it's Obama's economy now", but when it came to killing Bin Laden - suddenly they drag Bush out of the closet saying "if it wasn't for what The Shrub did". Well, nut jobs, if your gonna give the shrub credit for killing Bin Laden then you have to give him the credit for starting two wars, screwing up and destroying a balanced budget, two tax breaks for the richest, and putting the country in a recession not seen since the 1930's.
"I don't know where bin Laden is. I have no idea and really don't care. It's not that important. It's not our priority." - G.W. Bush, 3/13/02

Adam T, so great to have all that secret insider info posted here. You obviously have access to every confidential tidbit in WA, DC. Or just a humongous imagination.

For the record, it wasn't Seal Team Six that did it. It was a group that was drawn from seal team six, among others. This group goes on no other missions except ones dictated by the president. As for him, the only reason he released his birth cert. last week was because one of the many lawsuits he's battling, was about to order him to produce it. Rather than look like he was made to do it, they decided to pre-emptively release it. Its a mediocre fake at best.

Well he was not fully responcible for taking down build 7 nor the Pentagon. The gov could have taken him alive if they wanted.
Here is the highest trained people in the world not sure he was going to shoot them with his finger. Also if they say he was wearing a bomb they would have never shot him. Last they could have taken him alive if they wanted.

So, what exactly is the Senate going to vote on "Do you think bin Laden did something bad?" Is this somehow going to change the fellow's life? Or does it merely give the Senate the idea that they are actually doing something worthwhile.
Perhaps they could also pass legislation that if you are white you are white.

I think they should have shot three to the head, one to the heart and one to his private parts so just in case their idea of getting virgins in their heaven is true, he'd be unable to enjoy them!

One problem solved---999, go. Bin Laden's death won't change the world--we still need to keep other problems in perspective.
