Rescuing 1 Million Animals is New Campaign’s Goal (VIDEO)

This video introduces a new global animal rescue campaign, inviting you to be a hero and rescue an animal.

Here’s how The Great Animal Rescue Chase describes the campaign on their website:

“Welcome to the event that celebrates the heroic nature of the animal lover with an amazing mission to rescue one million. This free event is open to people everywhere, regardless of age or experience.”

“So pull your car over and move the turtle off the road. Untangle the fishing line wrapped around a pelican’s wing. Call authorities to report that dog chained up without food or water. Take in that elderly stray cat wandering through the winter snow. Be late for work. Get swamp water on your sneakers. Get fur on the back seat of your car. And 10 years from now, you’ll still be talking about the day you saved a life.”

To my fellow animal advocates,

Thank you all. As founder of The Great Animal Rescue Chase, I am deeply moved by the comments I've been reading. A few weeks ago when the rescue tournament made it's debut, I wasn't sure what to expect. But in just a short time, rescuers from around the world have already joined and they are sharing some incredible stories & photos of their live saving work. We're interested in hearing about any gestures of kindness towards animals whether you simply moved a turtle out of the road to safety or you tackled a much more challenging mission. I personally invite you all to join us, even if you don't have a rescue story to share at this time. You can simply sign up for our email list to enjoy our occassional good news updates. Visit us at www.AnimalRescueChase.com_showcase/index.html
Bless you all,

Wonderful. For the love, grace, and beauty animals have given to us: "paying it forward" should not only apply to homo sapiens.

Love. care, compassion, kindness and protective spirit.....all these words make one's life richer and rewarding if only one put them to practice and that is the only way to get closer to God.

Out on a "Sunday drive" to a seaside area recently I spotted an echidna (spiny ant eater) crossing the road ahead and got my husband to stop whilst I stopped another car coming from opposite direction to allow the cute little critter to cross safely. For those who don't know them well, they don't move too fast!!
The people in the other car really enjoyed the encounter as well. Years ago our German Shepherd jumped a high fence during a thunderstorm and was taken in by a lovely woman in our area who put him in her car despite his wet & muddy condition and kept him safe until I could collect him - WOW. We can all be heroic, we just have to Care.
