Underground Tomatoes (Video)

It’s not every day you get to see a patch of green in an urban environment. However, even for the most jaded city inhabitants, something clicks when you see a bit of nature sprouting out of blocks of concrete.

A small group in the U.K. realized this and decided to find a way to bring nature to the city. They met with the transit authorities and their vegetable garden became a working reality.

What I liked about this video is that it is a small effort. It didnít take a group of people sitting around a table lamenting that something should be done. It is a reminder to me that it can be easy to get your message to another person. By starting this train station garden, these visionaries are inspiring other city residents to appreciate homegrown produce.

How wonderful it would be if all cities planted vegetables along with flower and trees in the esplanades between the roads. It would be pretty and allow the hungry people who live nearby to have fresh vegetables.

I think growing vegies and herbs should be in school and we could all have more confidence and skill to give it a go, its better for the environment/carbon issue as well. Great video and comments, thanks.
