We Don’t Need a Tape of Trump Saying the N-Word To Know He’s Racist

Reality star turned presidential advisor Omarosa Manigault Newman released a new book this week, and she’s spilling some details about her experience in Donald Trump’s White House to drum up sales. Although her credibility is questionable at best, Omarosa told the press that there’s a lot of concern amongst staffers about Trump’s previous use of the n-word.

As far back as the campaign, a rumor has circled that unaired footage from the Apprentice set shows Trump uttering that racist slur. Another celebrity, Tom Arnold, has even made it his mission to find the tape to expose the president.

Trump’s Tweet meant to vindicate himself of these allegations was oddly incriminating: “Mark Burnett called to say that there are NO TAPES of the Apprentice where I used such a terrible and disgusting word as attributed by Wacky and Deranged Omarosa. I don’t have that word in my vocabulary, and never have.”

Why would Trump need confirmation that no video exists of him saying the word if he didn’t say it, though? Also, say what you will about Omarosa recording private conversations with administration staffers, but at least she has some evidence to back her up. She’s released a tape of her discussing the incident with high-ranking staffers where one person says that Trump admits he said it, and they were hoping to find “context” so they’d know how to “spin” it.

By all means, if someone has that defamatory tape of Trump using the n-word, please release it. At the same time, most of us don’t need to see this tape to know that he’s racist.

This is a man who kicked off his campaign by broadly labeling Mexicans rapists, called for five (innocent) black and Latino kids accused of rape to be executed via newspaper ads and referred to violent neo-Nazis as “very fine people.” He’s also routinely demeaned the intelligence of African Americans of stature like Don Lemon and LeBron James. Most recently, he vindictively referred to Omarosa as a “dog” – no matter their beef, it crosses the line to dehumanize her like that.

Still, it’s his racist policies that do even more damage than the words. By preventing Muslims from entering the country, tearing apart Latino immigrant families at the border and scuttling hurricane relief efforts in Puerto Rico, Trump is deliberately making the lives of non-white people more difficult.

After all that, even the president’s own supporters know he’s racist – with many of them liking him all the more for it! To assume that a tape of him using the n-word, a slur most of us probably already assume he has used, would make much of a difference after all of the other controversies he’s weathered seems a bit naďve. For crying out loud, the tape that should have ended Trump’s political career was the Access Hollywood footage where he boasted about using his status to sexually assault women – if that became a non-issue

Let’s not put much stock in this unverified Apprentice tape or we’ll just be waiting around for more “proof” when we already have plenty at our disposal. Call Trump out for the racist we already know he is!

- got cut off - continuing - * The irony is that if you are poor your voice is lost. Only those who attain wealth can play the game. Meet the Clintons, or whoever,.... Money talks to money. But, and here's the dagger, some wealth are actually trying to assist this nation to do better for the welfare of our human race. Some wealthy are entitled egomaniacs who only want to be adored for their great achievements and specialness: "I am a genius, - You can't help it if you're not," or "I'm the best God has ever made!" - or - that oh so generous comment: " I love the uneducated," because they're easily controlled,... that'd be our Gekko in chief, dt, generations of greed breeding - so alive, and unfit to govern - but supported by his lip-smacking supporters who's life purpose is to play the game to win, = and money is their only trophy. As long as you've got money, he's interested, until he has yours. Then he moves on, to soak-up the next basin of wealth. He cares NOT FOR YOU.

What all this ultimately seems to boil down to is who's going to "cash-in" with this political extravaganza of business maneuvers to make the rich richer, and Oops~ too bad for the unfortunate worker bees,... I re-watched the old Michael Douglas movie from 1987, and the motto; "Greed is good," cry from NYC's Wall Street brigade was sweeping the nation. Not sure exactly where dt was that year, but, if I could imagine, he was one of the money hungry sheep to become the real life Gekko.

@Paul B---You sound just like an Abuse Victim with all the excuses you come up with for why Trump does what he does. "Oh, he made a mistake, he didn't really mean what he said or did, It was an accident, he's really a good man, others provoked him, he's done some really good things, if someone, or me, gets hurt once in awhile, it's because they or I deserved it, he really, really loves me!" GAG!

I see several folks here following Rudy Giuliani's latest quote: "Truth isn't truth." Unless Trump walks up to them and spouts the N-word to their face, they'll deny he ever said it in his life. And even then...

Rhoberta E Both parties are corrupt and in the pockets of Wall Street and corporations. Instead of defending the Democrats who are just as corrupt as this crook Trump and the Republicans, why don't you support Bernie Sanders who supports Medicare for all and is the most popular politician in our country? If you really cared about our country, you would support Bernie Sanders.

Mike K You're the joke here. After losing to the worst candidate in history Trump, Bernie Sanders told your corrupt Democratic party that cheated Bernie Sanders out of his primary and anointed a Wall Street crook Hillary, to end their corruption, allow Bernie Sanders to lead the party, and support progressive policies that we desperately need in this country like Medicare for all, free colleges, a $15.00 minimum wage, and marijuana legalization. Of course your corrupt Democratic party will never listen to the most popular politician in the country Bernie Sanders, so they can continue their corruption and lose to this fraud Trump again in 2020.
